Will the Hard-Hitting 38-year-old Old Find the Fountain of Youth One More Time?
At 38 years old, Amanda Lemos is still as dangerous as any woman in the world. The power she has in her hands and the aggression she fights with, not only on the feet but also if she gets top position on the ground, make her a threat at all times. In her last fight, she took on the tough Tatiana Suarez at UFC Noche. After two tough rounds, she came out and put on a clinic in the third round and almost got her out of there before coming up short in a decision loss. She's back this Saturday, trying to get back in the win column as she takes on the dangerous ground threat of Gillian Robertson. Can the former title challenger turn back the surging Canadian, or will Robertson finally get the signature win she's been looking for?
Amanda Lemos is a power puncher, so she is always looking to do damage early and often with her hands. She will mix up her wrestling if she's backing her opponent up against the fence. She will always be there for all three rounds. She has great cardio, and even when she's losing her mentality, it never wavers. The glaring issue here is that her takedown defense isn't the best, and that's the only area where Robertson excels. The Brazilian has faced many tough wrestlers, so she should be able to stuff a few takedowns early on and on the feet; the striking disparity is significant. I think if she continues to walk forward and throw her hands with consistency, she can get a huge knockout victory in this fight.
Gillian Robertson is currently on a four-fight win streak. She has shown improvements in her stand-up, but she's still miles behind the top of the women's division in that category. That makes her takedowns much more challenging to come by as they can sit and wait for the shots to happen. She is relentless with getting the fight to the ground, and when it gets there, there's no better. She has great top control, looks to advance her position, and often seeks out finishes and damage. If she can circle Lemo's mighty right hand and shoot when she loads up and attacks a single leg, I think she can get this fight to the ground and potentially finish the fight. Lemos is durable, but her exceptional control lets her ride out the rest of the round. This would be a massive victory for her career if she could turn back the always dangerous Amanda Lemos.
This is going to be an exciting fight between two ultra-aggressive fighters who always look to finish and get into a dominant position. In a division with a new champion, a dominant win in this fight could propel them towards a title shot. Whichever way this fight goes, you're not going to want to miss it and all the other great action. This Saturday, December 13th, for the final UFC event of 2025, with a main card start time of 10:00 p.m. EST.
