WNBA 2025 Power Rankings: Top 25 Players at the All-Star Break

As the WNBA All-Star break approaches, this midseason analysis ranks the league’s top players based solely on their performance in the 2025 season. Career accomplishments and past reputations weren’t factored in, which means some longtime stars didn’t make the cut. In contrast, several breakout players and standout rookies have forced their way into the conversation. Unlike the preseason list, which excluded first-year players, this update reflects everyone making an impact now. From rising talent to consistent producers, these are the players leading the way halfway through the season. 

1. Naphessa Collier - Minnesota Lynx

Naphessa Collier has been a dominant presence on both offense and defense this season. Her impact on the floor is felt in every aspect of the game. She consistently delivers MVP caliber performances night after night. Few players can match her two-way excellence this year. 

2. A’ja Wilson - Las Vegas Aces

A’ja Wilson is still an elite presence everywhere on the court. She does it all for the Aces, and you could easily argue that she is still the best player in the league, and without a doubt in MVP form again. Wilson has continued to put her team on her back throughout the early season. She continues to set the standard for the entire league. 

3. Alyssa Thomas - Phoenix Mercury

Whether it’s a triple-double or her versatility, Alyssa Thomas is irreplaceable on the court for the Mercury. Her ability to impact every facet of the game makes her one of the most valuable players in the league. She brings constant energy and a high IQ every night. Thomas continues to be the engine that drives Phoenix forward. 

4. Brenna Stewart - New York Liberty

Breanna Stewart has not been quite as dominant as her previous MVP seasons, but she is still a nightly problem for opponents. Her scoring, length, and defensive versatility continue to make her one of the most complete players in the league. Even when she's not at her peak, she demands constant attention from defenses. Stewart remains a cornerstone for her team’s success and a perennial MVP contender. 

5. Sabrina Ionescu - New York Liberty

Sabrina Ionescu's shooting and improved playmaking have led New York to its recent success. She has lived up to the hype so far and is a top-five player in the league. Her leadership and poise were key in guiding the Liberty to their first-ever WNBA championship. It was a historic run, and she was a key piece of the puzzle.  

6. Allisha Gray - Atlanta Dream

This has been a breakout year for Allisha Gray with career highs in scoring and shooting percentages. She has stepped into a star role and is a well-known name. Her confidence and consistency have made her a go-to option for her team. Gray’s emergence has been one of the season’s most exciting storylines. 

7. Satou Sabally - Phoenix Mercury

Satou Sabally has been impactful and efficient in her first year with Phoenix. When she is healthy, she's a top forward in the league. Her versatility on both ends of the floor has elevated the team's play. Her presence has added a dynamic edge that Phoenix has greatly benefited from thus far.

8. Aliyah Boston - Indiana Fever

Aliyah Boston is one of the league’s most efficient scorers and a defensive anchor. The former number one overall pick is having herself a year. Her impact is felt in every game, consistently changing the outcome. This season is shaping up to be the best of her young career easily.  

9. Caitlin Clark - Indiana Fever

Despite Caitlin Clark’s up-and-down performance this year, her playmaking and attention have transformed Indiana’s offense. She consistently creates opportunities for her teammates and controls the flow of the game. Even in challenging moments, her leadership remains a key factor for Indiana. Her impact on the court is undeniable and vital to Indiana’s success. 

10. Nneka Ogwumike - Seattle Storm

A steady veteran presence who continues to produce at a high level, and Nneka Ogwumike numbers back it up. ​​She brings experience and consistency that her team relies on night after night. Even as the game evolves, she adapts and remains a key contributor. Her performance proves that age is just a number in her case. 

11. Skylar Diggins - Seattle Storm

Back with a vengeance after some time away, Skylar Diggins has been key for Seattle. Her impact on both ends of the floor has revitalized the team’s energy and performance. Honestly, she could be ranked higher given how much she’s contributed. Diggins’ comeback has been one of the standout stories of the year. 

12. Kelsey Plum - Los Angeles Sparks

Having one of her best scoring seasons, Kelsey Plum has kept the Sparks competitive. Regardless of the record, Plum is a top player this season. Her offensive firepower has been a constant threat to opponents. Regardless of the team’s record, Plum’s individual play cements her as a top player this season. She continues to prove why she’s one of the league’s most dynamic scorers.  

13. Paige Bueckers - Dallas Wings 

As an All-Star in a rookie year, Paige Bueckers is living up to the hype so far. She has seamlessly transitioned to the professional level with impressive skill and maturity. Her playmaking and scoring abilities have made her a standout on the court. If she keeps this up, she’s poised for a very bright and successful future in the league.  

14. Jackie Young - Las Vegas Aces

Quietly consistent and versatile, Jackie Young is as valuable as ever for Las Vegas. She brings steady defense and timely scoring whenever her team needs it. Her ability to adapt and fill multiple roles makes her indispensable. Young’s impact might not always grab headlines, but it’s crucial to the Aces’ success. 

15. Kelsey Mitchell - Indiana Fever

Kelsey Mitchell’s sharp shooting and late-game performances have boosted her stock. She is not flashy, but she is extremely effective. Opponents know to respect her in the most critical moments. Mitchell’s consistent effectiveness has made her a key asset for Indiana. 

16. Rhyne Howard - Atlanta Dream

A two-way force who continues to improve as a primary option for the Dream. Rhyne Howard’s growing confidence on defense complements her already strong offensive presence. She’s becoming more consistent in carrying the team during the biggest moments. This upward trajectory suggests she’s poised to be a star for years to come.  

17. Kayla McBride - Minnesota Lynx

Deadly from behind the arc and always steady, Kayla McBride remains one of the most underrated players. She has been vital to Minnesota’s recent success. McBride’s impact often flies under the radar but is crucial to the team’s performance. She is a veteran who knows how to win in the league.   

18. Angel Reese - Chicago Sky

Angel Reese is a double-double machine who plays with energy and force every single night. She is having a historic season thus far. This season, she is reaching new heights and making a lasting impact on and off the court. Reese is on pace for one of the best campaigns in recent memory. 

19. Dearica Hamby - Los Angeles Sparks

Dearica Hamby has been putting up consistent numbers and keeping the Sparks within striking distance so far this season. She is one of the most productive forwards in the league. She consistently contributes on both ends and steps up when needed. Her impact has been vital as the Sparks try to stay in playoff contention.  ​​

20. Gabby Williams - Seattle Storm

Gabby Williams is doing all the little things and locking down on defense. She has also earned an All-Star nod this year. Williams proves that defense and hustle can be just as valuable as scoring. She has been a key piece in the turnaround for Seattle thus far.  

21. Brionna Jones - Atlanta Dream

Brionna Jones is a reliable interior scorer, and the veteran poise keeps her in the top-tier column of players. Her experience brings stability and leadership to her team. Jones remains a key contributor night after night for Atlanta. She is now one of the centerpieces for a revamped Dream roster. 

22. Brittney Sykes - Washington Mystics

Brittney Sykes may be flying under the radar, but she has a spark plug on both ends of the floor for the Mystics. The Mystics are overachieving so far, and Sykes has been a big reason why. She is an accomplished veteran in the league, and it’s showing. She may not always grab headlines, but her impact is undeniable.  

23. Sonia Citron - Washington Mystics

Sonia Citron is a rookie who can do it all and has some of the best decision-making. She is one of the main difference makers for Washington. Her versatility and basketball IQ set her apart from her peers. This rookie is one to watch as she continues to develop. 

24. Kayla Thornton - Golden State Valkyries

Kayla Thornton is one of the league's best defenders this season, and she has been crucial for Golden State this year. Her tenacious defense anchors the team, while her clear communication helps organize everyone on the floor. Thornton has been a key piece for the newest WNBA team and continues to perform. Her combination of defense and leadership makes her indispensable.  

25. Courtney Williams - Minnesota Lynx

Courtney Williams has a steady hand with a killer mid-range game. Williams is a glue player for Minnesota who has led them to being the top team in the league. She balances scoring with smart playmaking, keeping the offense flowing smoothly. Williams’ leadership and skill make her indispensable to the Lynx’s success.
