WNBA Announces 3-Point Participants and Skills Challenge Participants

The WNBA has officially announced the final participants for the 2025 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge, exciting fans ahead of All-Star Weekend. These events are scheduled for Friday, July 18, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The contests will showcase the league’s best sharpshooters and most agile players competing for top honors. The All-Star Game will follow the next day, on Saturday, July 19, with live coverage across major networks.

The lineup for the 3-Point Contest features Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum, Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray, and Washington Mystics guard Sonia Citron. Ionescu is the early favorite, with Clark in second place behind her. Plum, Gray, and Citron each bring their own sharpshooting skills, making the competition wide open. At any point, any of these shooters catch fire and go on a run. Fans can expect an exciting battle as these top shooters vie for the title during All-Star Weekend.

The lineup for the Skills Challenge includes Seattle Storm guard Skylar Diggins, Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray, New York Liberty guard Natasha Cloud, Minnesota Lynx guard Courtney Williams, and Seattle Storm guard Erica Wheeler. My early favorite is longtime vet Skylar Diggins, known for her quick handles and basketball IQ. Each player brings a unique skill set to the competition, making this event a true free-for-all. Expect intense competition and impressive moves as these athletes battle to claim the Skills Challenge crown.

With All-Star Weekend fast approaching, fans are gearing up for what should be some exciting competition. Interestingly, both the 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge feature only guards and wings this year; no forwards or post players made the cut. It’s surprising, given the talent all around the league, and raises the question of why frontcourt players weren’t included in these events. Regardless, the skills on display will be impressive, and the matchups promise plenty of drama. It’ll be fascinating to see how this all unfolds during the weekend, so make sure to stay tuned.
