WrestleMania 42 Showdown: Will 'The Ruler' Finally Slay 'The Beast Incarnate'?

WWE

Ever since he made his official main roster debut at Royal Rumble 2026, Oba Femi has destroyed anyone who has stood in his way. He made quick work of Kit Wilson, The Miz, and Johnny Gargano before putting down Rusev in a hard-hitting encounter. ‘The Ruler’ wants to compete against anyone, no matter how big or how strong they might be. When the opportunity arose for Femi to respond to a challenge for a match at WrestleMania, Femi wasted no time in answering that challenge, making the match official between him and ‘The Beast Incarnate.’

Despite his return being highly controversial due to legal troubles outside the WWE, Brock Lesnar has been on a dominant run since attacking John Cena at SummerSlam 2025. Lesnar defeated Cena in a disappointing encounter at Wrestlepalooza 2025, then went on to participate on the winning team at Survivor Series: Wargames 2025. With a hunger to seek a high-profile challenger to step up to him, Lesnar issued a WrestleMania open challenge. ‘The Beast Incarnate’ called out anyone willing to stand across him and give him the fight of his life, telling the WWE Universe he would appear on upcoming episodes of Raw until he found a suitable challenger.

Lesnar unexpectedly showed up on an episode of Raw as an aide for Paul Heyman, who sought to get revenge on Seth Rollins, who had attacked him weeks prior. When it seemed that Lesnar would get his hands on Rollins, the lights would go out, and Femi would make his presence known. Lesnar attempted to attack Femi but would instead be dropped to the ground by ‘The Ruler.’ Femi was the one who answered Lesnar’s call, making their match at WrestleMania 42 official.

Even with the short amount of time he’s been on the main roster, Femi has been extremely over with the crowd. His quickness and brutality have made him an immediate fan favorite among those who never got to see him compete in NXT. It’s no secret that WWE wants to push him to the moon, and a statement win against Lesnar can elevate him even more to the main event scene. As for Lesnar, there are rumors circulating that 2026 will be his final year as an in-ring competitor. Lesnar putting over someone as talented as Femi before riding off into the sunset gives Femi credibility as a superstar.

Femi could lose the match and still be completely over with the audience, but a statement victory over Lesnar is much more important for his career. Femi winning means that all main roster talent will be on notice. ‘The Ruler’ already proved his dominance on NXT, and he wants to continue showing how powerful he really is on the biggest shows. Will Lesnar stop Femi’s momentum, or will Femi prove to be too much for even Lesnar to handle?
