2026 Yankees Take 45th Win By Force Against the White Sox

MLB

On Tuesday, the New York Yankees started a three-game series at home against the Chicago White Sox. New York cruised by Chicago to take their 44th win of the season with a dominant 12-2 win. The next day, the Yankees continued their hot hitting by bringing home another 10 runs in a solid 10-5 win to take the series and win their fourth straight series. New York smashed three home runs in the win, including a three-run home run by Paul Goldschmidt and a two-run home run by Cody Bellinger, who now has three home runs and nine RBIs in his last nine games. Ryan Weathers will take the mound for the Bronx Bombers in their final game against Chicago before the Yankees take on the Cincinnati Reds at home.

Bellinger Has Been a Stable Piece to the Offense Without Judge

The Yankees have looked great without their three-time MVP, Aaron Judge, in the lineup. A key reason for that has been the play of Bellinger. On top of hitting three home runs and driving in nine RBIs in the last nine games, the 2020 World Series Champion has recorded 13 hits while only striking out four times. The 2019 NL MVP has been the stable piece to this Yankees offense. If this continues, Bellinger should be named a 2026 all-star.

Rodón’s One Big Mistake

Carlos Rodón struggled on the mound during this one, but allowed the Yankees to maintain a lead. They led 4-0 going into the top of the third, and a three-run home run by Colson Montgomery allowed the White Sox to stay in the game for a short time. That one pitch had to shake the three-time all-star’s confidence on the mound just a bit, but he gathered himself together and pitched another two innings, finishing with seven strikeouts. It was nice to see the bullpen back up Rodón after giving up a huge home run and finishing the game out better than it could have turned out to be. With Weathers on the mound for Thursday’s game, hopefully, this boost from the bullpen can continue and help New York finish these games strong.
