25-26 Spurs Tie Up Western Conference Finals at 3-3

NBA

The 2026 Western Conference Finals are heading to a Game Seven after the San Antonio Spurs crushed the Oklahoma City Thunder 118-91 Thursday night. There was no stopping Victor Wembanyama and his teammates during Game Six as they went on a 32-13 run during the third quarter to lead by 28 at one point. Now, a crucial Game Seven will decide who will face the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals after the Knicks advanced to their first NBA Finals since 1999. Can ‘Wemby’ and the Spurs pick up a clutch win on the road, or will Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder make their second consecutive NBA Finals appearance?

Wembanyama Could Not Be Stopped

During the Game Six win, Wembanyama finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and three blocks. He shot four-for-nine from beyond the arc, and this was in just 28 minutes of action. ‘Wemby’ had to show his teammates from the start of the game to be aggressive and to make those open shots, which worked to perfection as Oklahoma City could not weather the storm. Heading into Game Seven, the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year must grow into his own as a young leader and get his guys to do whatever it takes to knock out the defending NBA Champions.

Harper Was the X-Factor

Dylan Harper was certainly the x-factor for the Spurs in Game Six. He dropped 18 points, while pulling down six rebounds, and dishing out four assists. The 20-year-old was second in scoring for San Antonio behind ‘Wemby’. Harper picked up the slack De'Aaron Fox left as ‘Swipa’ struggled, finishing with five points and going one-for-nine from the field. If the 20-year-old can continue being a key offensive weapon for the Spurs, they may have a good chance of clinching their ticket to the 2026 NBA Finals.

Will Gilgeous-Alexander Prove the Doubter Wrong?

Oklahoma City’s two-time MVP struggled in Game Six. Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 15 points, going six-for-18 from the floor, and missing all five attempts from beyond the arc. The Thunder have home court advantage for Game Seven, and yet, in front of the home crowd, the two-time NBA MVP has to play the biggest game of his career if he wants to take his team back to the promise land. Gilgeous-Alexander must score efficiently while getting his teammates involved when they’re open. The Thunder will need their MVP and their leader more than ever Saturday night.
