Aaron Rodgers Releases New Video Ahead of Steelers Training Camp

NFL

Aaron Rodgers finished his personal training to prepare for Steelers training camp and the upcoming NFL season. Proactive Sports Performance posted a video of Rodgers working out on their Instagram page. Rodgers worked out alongside Fox Sports insider Jay Glazer and other NFL players in California. He threw a football and a frisbee as part of his workout. Rodgers adhered to a workout routine in California to stay in shape for what appears to be his final season playing in the NFL. Rodgers took care of some personal issues before signing a one-year contract with the Steelers in June. A few weeks ago, various Steelers players joined Rodgers in Malibu to work out together. Steelers’ third-round draft pick Kaleb Johnson worked out with Rodgers before they became teammates. Rodgers and DK Metcalf had a throwing session at UCLA in Malibu in March.

Rodgers is looking to fit in with the Steelers. Rodgers discussed his hopes for his time with the team. He said, “I just want to be a servant leader here and just pass on the knowledge that I have for 20 years, the experience, and just try and fit in with the guys. Get to know them, let them get to know me, and just enjoy the process.” Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward had a good experience with Rodgers during the Steelers’ mandatory minicamp. Heyward said, “It just felt like he had bought in, and it worked out for the best. I know sometimes we live in a society where we want things now. But patience has a way of paying off. And now to see he’s a Pittsburgh Steeler, and just him walking through the locker room asking questions about how we do things. He’s bought in, and that’s all I can ask for our quarterback. As a teammate, I’m excited to go work with him.”

Steelers rookie quarterback Will Howard also had a positive experience when meeting Rodgers. He said, “He was a super down-to-earth guy. You think he’s this big-time, famous guy. Everybody knows Aaron Rodgers, but he is down-to-earth, not at all what you would expect. Super personable, has treated us pretty well so far. I’m impressed by him and the way he carries himself.” Some NFL coaches and teams believe that Rodgers “still has it” ahead of this season. NFL insider Albert Breer spoke with NFL coaches and teams who still have praise for Rodgers. He remarked, “Talking to other teams who were evaluating him, they looked at him at the end of the year, the games against the Dolphins, the game against the Jaguars in particular, and they’re saying, ‘He still has a lot of it. There’s not a huge decline in skill here’.”

Rodgers seems to be fitting in well with the Steelers. Rodgers is entering his 21st season in the NFL. He’s a former Super Bowl Champion. Rodgers is also a four-time NFL MVP. After completing his offseason personal training, Rodgers is ready for Steelers training camp. Players will report to training camp on July 23rd. The Steelers’ training camp is at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. It’s been almost nine years since the Steelers have won a postseason game. They’re hoping that Rodgers can help them win playoff games.
