Alabama WR Set for an Upcoming Pre-Draft Visit with the Steelers

Wide receiver is one of the needs that the Steelers will be addressing during the 2026 NFL Draft. The team is hosting various wide receivers for pre-draft visits. Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard revealed that he’ll be visiting the team. He was interviewed on SiriusXM Blitz on Thursday. When asked about his upcoming pre-draft visits, he replied, “I have one in April to Pittsburgh, but other than that, nah.” The Steelers have also had pre-draft visits with Cincinnati’s Jeff Caldwell and Kentucky’s Kendrick Law. They’re also going to host Washington’s Denzel Boston for a pre-draft visit.

Bernard is six-foot-one and weighs 206 pounds. During the 2025 season, he amassed 64 receptions, 862 receiving yards, and seven receiving touchdowns. Bernard led the Crimson Tide in receptions and receiving yards. According to CBS Sports, he posted a 2.9% drop rate in 2025.

At the NFL Combine, Bernard’s 40-yard dash time was 4.48 seconds. His 10-yard split time was 1.52 seconds. His vertical jump was 32.5 inches, and his broad jump was 10 feet, five inches. He completed the three-cone drill in 6.71 seconds. The 22-year-old is expected to be selected in the second round of the draft.

Bernard is a physical, versatile, and intelligent receiver. He can play outside or in the slot. He’s a smooth route runner. The 22-year-old is a consistent and reliable player. He also has good contact balance. At the NFL Combine, the Alabama wide receiver talked about his versatility. He explained, “I run routes out of the backfield. I run routes from the slot, the outside, you know, I can make contested catches. I can make explosive plays. I can create explosive plays.” The star wide receiver also spoke about playing with physicality. He said, “You got to be a physical guy to be able to make plays with the ball after your hand. That physicality is something that I’ve always had, and I just continue to keep it with me whenever I have the ball in my hand.”

Prior to transferring to Alabama in 2024, Bernard played college football for the Washington Huskies in 2023 and the Michigan State Spartans in 2022. Playing for different teams, he’s been able to adapt to new systems and schemes. While at the NFL Combine, the young wide receiver discussed his adaptability. He remarked, “For the next level, being able to understand different playbooks, being able to adapt to new situations, being able to adapt to new relationships. New circumstances is something I’m used to now.”
