Are Madden 27 Leaked Ratings Justified for Three Dallas Cowboys Stars?
One of EA Sports' biggest games of the year is making its yearly drop this August. Insider sources on X recently leaked some of the player ratings for Madden 27, the popular American football video game. The release of these leaks has sparked controversy among fans across the NFL world, with notable players either being higher overall or lower overall than expected. The Dallas Cowboys have several players who are ranked at 90 overall or higher in their respective positions, but the question is, are they rated fairly?
Dak Prescott - 91 Overall
Dak Prescott was rated as the seventh-highest overall quarterback, with a rating of 91 in Madden 27. The four-time Pro Bowler was the penultimate quarterback of the 90 overall club, with his 91 overall rating being definitely fair. After having a stellar 2025 season, the 32-year-old would have undoubtedly led the Cowboys to the playoffs and been in contention for the MVP if Dallas had a better defense. While one could argue that Prescott deserves a higher rating than Drake Maye, who is rated 92 overall, his rating of 91 is reasonable and justified.
Ceedee Lamb - 93 Overall
CeeDee Lamb, considered one half of the league's best receiving duos, has reportedly been given an overall rating of 93 in Madden 27. After a down year for Lamb standards in 2025, during which he missed time due to injury and faced competition from his partner in crime, George Pickens, a rating of 93 overall is certainly justified for him. The 27-year-old has been recognized as one of the top receivers in the league since being drafted by the Cowboys in 2020, consistently putting up impressive numbers as the team's lead receiver. Although 2025 was not his best year, a rating of 93 reflects his abilities and potential for elite play in 2026.
Caleb Downs - 82 Overall
While he is not 90 overall, Caleb Downs makes his Madden debut with an overall rating of 82, tying him for the highest-rated rookie alongside Jeremiyah Love and marking the highest overall rating ever for a Dallas rookie entering the season. Downs was arguably the best player in the entire 2026 NFL Draft, but being a safety, NFL teams tend to overlook the position, and he fell to the Cowboys. Dallas' defense desperately needed a leader to come and take over for years to come following Micah Parsons being traded to the Packers, and the 21-year-old is the answer the Cowboys were looking for. He has not played a snap in the NFL yet, but after everything Downs achieved in college, being rated an 82 overall is justified.
