Australian Takeover at UFC Fight Night

UFC

The UFC is coming to Perth Australia this weekend for what is expected to be a very exciting night of fights. This is UFC’s fourth time hosting an event in the city of Perth and this will be its first fight night there. What is interesting about this fight night is all the fights but one has an Australian fighter. This will add a lot of support to the local fighters giving them a home field advantage on their opponents.

The one fight that does not have an Australian represented is the main event, which is a Light Heavyweight fight between Dominick Reyes and Carlos Ulberg. Dominick Reyes is looking for a fourth straight win in what has been an exciting comeback story in his career. The co-main event was canceled due to an injury which led Junior Tafa to withdraw. After the card was shuffled, the fight between Jimmy Crute and Ivan Erslan got promoted. Jimmy Crute who is a veteran Aussie will look to make a statement win against a tough opponent. The other fights include Neil Magny fighting Australian Jake Matthews, Ramon Taveras fighting Australian Jack Jenkins, and Charlie Campbell fighting Australian Tom Nolan. There is Australian representation in the prelims as well with Jamie Mullarkey, Jonathan Micallef, and Justin Tafa all fighting out of Australia. Justin Tafa is the brother of Junior Tafa who was originally supposed to be fighting in the co-main event. Justin Tafa is still on the earlier side of his career and has been an exciting Heavyweight fighter. He will try and find a knockout quickly as he has shown he is very dangerous in the early moments of the fight.

Australia will be showing their fighters full support in their matchups hoping to prove they have some serious contenders. The card includes some veterans along with some exciting newcomers looking to put on a show for Perth. The Australian fighters will definitely feel the energy and will hope it helps add pressure to their opponents. This weekend has some very exciting fights and a lot that Australia should be proud of.
