Buffalo Bills Tight Ends Stole the Show at Minicamp

NFL

The Bills’ minicamp wrapped up Thursday with touchdowns from the team’s three tight ends, Dalton Kincaid, Dawson Knox, and Zach Davidson. The trio has reeled in 27 touchdowns over the past few seasons. The headline play of camp came from undrafted free agent end Keleki Latu, who snagged a dart from Shane Buechele in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown. Their performances at minicamp make Buffalo’s offense look especially scary entering the 2025 season.

Dalton Kincaid was drafted in the 2023 NFL Draft and quickly became the Bills’ starting tight end during his rookie season, grabbing 73 passes and scoring two touchdowns. His sophomore season was simply unimpressive. Kincaid only had 44 receptions and dropped a crucial pass in the AFC title game. Offensive coordinator Brandon Beane said, "He's definitely in a stronger position than he was probably this time a year ago, so I'm excited for Dalton. And you can see the confidence in the knee and the body out there, as we went along, even from three or four weeks ago." Now healed from his injuries, Kincaid is due for a breakout season.

Dawson Knox is another key player in the tight end room who has been with the Bills for six seasons. Last year, his stats were steady, with 22 catches, 311 yards, and a touchdown. He showed a strong performance at the OTAs and minicamp, snagging multiple passes from Josh Allen and staying healthy throughout. Knox remains a reliable red-zone target for Allen, and we’ll likely see him back in his starting role next season.

After spending time on the Bills’ practice squad, Zach Davidson turned heads at minicamp with multiple impressive catches and a touchdown. He first made his debut for Buffalo in 2024 against the Kansas City Chiefs, grabbing one reception. The 250-pound tight end gives the Buffalo Bills valuable depth in the TE room and makes Davidson the perfect backup option. His performance at training camp will be closely watched. If he continues to impress, we may see him start in multiple games this season.

With all three tight ends healthy and no clear-cut WR1, this group will be relied on heavily in the 2025 season. All have proved their ability during minicamp to receive passes from Allen and land the ball in the end zone. The trio will be closely watched during training camp. If their breakout ability continues, we may see even more of these players next season. Buffalo Bills training camp will start around the last week of July in Rochester, New York.
