Can Seattle’s Head Coach Shake Up Their Formula After Week Six Loss?
We are now six weeks into the season; doing the math, that's about 12 weeks left overall. It does seem like a lot of time, but given how quickly things have progressed already, it doesn't seem like there is much time left for Seattle to save itself this season. After such a close game last weekend, it appears that the team is in more desperate need now than ever to start. Something needs to be done, especially with at least six of their players now injured; there could be more piling up in the weeks to come. As things look like they can't get worse, Coach MacDonald needs to find a formula that works well for the team, one that can hopefully make a lasting impact on the season as a whole.
With the number of players who are more critical out on the field, finding a new formula for this team won't be easy. Essential members of the team, like DeMarcus Lawrence, Julian Love, Devon Witherspoon, and a few others, were listed in the injury report. Some injuries were more severe than others on the list, which is why MacDonald should start thinking of a strategy that can work without those individuals on the field. Something that could make it seem like the team hasn't missed a beat in terms of coordination, team communication, and overall playmaking in the coming weeks here.
I personally think there should be a team strategy that applies more pressure on defense, as well as the same amount of it over on offense. With an equal balance between both sides, Seattle could finally get itself out of the mess it put itself in since the start of the season. Unless, of course, the outcome ends up being that they lose even more very important players over time. They only have six days left before kick-off in Jacksonville, Florida, with only so much time to come up with a plan to last at least for that game itself. There still is a small glimmer of hope left, but even then, they can only make so many mistakes in one season.
