Can ‘The Genius of the Sky’ Become a Two-Time Women’s World Champion at SummerSlam 2026?

WWE

Just about a month ago, back on June 27th at Night of Champions, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan looked to challenge for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam to become a double champion. Before she could head to the biggest party of the summer, Morgan was faced with ‘The Genius of the Sky’ Iyo Sky in the Queen of the Ring Tournament Finals. To make matters worse for the Women’s World Champion, Danhausen cursed her before the match started. Even with Sky’s knee in severe pain, she defeated Morgan and was crowned the 2026 Queen of the Ring. Right after the match, ‘The Genius of the Sky’ told the Women’s World Champion that she’ll be seeing her at SummerSlam.

On the Monday Night Raw after Night of Champions, Morgan and her Judgment Day sisters Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez beat down Sky even more, with the Women’s World Champion further injuring her knee. Two weeks later, during the July 13th edition of Raw, Sky and Perez battled it out in the ring, with Morgan hoping Perez would soften Sky up for her before their SummerSlam match. ‘The Genius of the Sky’ would defeat ‘The Prodigy’; however, The Judgment Day girls were at it again, going after Sky, yet Sol Ruca would try to make the save. Nonetheless, the former Women’s Intercontinental Champion would get beaten down too. Morgan would hit the two-time World Champion with Oblivion and her title, leaving Sky in the ring.

The following week saw Joe Hendry face AAA Mega Champion ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio, with Morgan accompanying him. The Women’s World Champion would smash Hendry into the steel ring post, but out came Danhausen, who was smacked in the face by Morgan. Danhausen would drive back in his Hausenmobile with Sky, who would even the odds against the Women’s World Champion. This eventually helped Hendry defeat Mysterio.

During the go-home episode of Raw before SummerSlam, Ruca was defending her Intercontinental Championship against Rodriguez. The other Judgment Day girls tried to help Rodriguez; however, Sky came out to back up the champion. Despite her help, ‘Big Mami Cool’ defeated Ruca and became the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion. With Ruca title-less, it leaves the question of whether she’ll go after both Morgan and Sky for ruining her championship reign.

With Morgan still presumably cursed heading into SummerSlam, this leaves ‘The Genius of the Sky’ as the favorite to win. Unless the Women’s World Champion can undo Danhausen’s curse, which hasn’t been done since Danhausen’s arrival to WWE in February, then Sky should be your new WWE Women’s World Champion after it’s all said and done. We will most likely see Perez and Rodriguez get involved to help Morgan, but Danhausen, Ruca, or another WWE superstar could come out to help Sky even the odds. A win for ‘The Genius of the Sky’ would give her a second Women’s World Championship reign within her career and her third World Championship overall.
