Can ‘The Megastar’ Defeat Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank 2026?
The October 5th episode of Monday Night Raw began with ‘The Megastar’ LA Knight talking about becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion at Money in the Bank, the possibility of 946 attacking him and the champion, Roman Reigns, while taking as many jabs at the World Heavyweight Champion as he possibly could. Reigns came out to confront Knight, with ‘The OTC’ rebutting that he’s not distracted by 946 and that Knight has always had his attention because ‘The Megastar’ runs his mouth way too much. ‘The OTC’ told the former two-time United States Champion that he always complains, he’s a b*tchass, and that Reigns is the actual megastar of WWE. Almost immediately after, Knight told the World Heavyweight Champion that Reigns is the most manufactured, corporate plant, and industry puppet he’s ever seen. These two will face off at Money in the Bank in what should be a highly anticipated main event and potentially see 946 interfere or a potential cash-in after the fact.
Reigns has let captains Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso, alongside ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ Jacob Fatu, handle the 946 situation, but it’s really been Fatu who’s called the plays over the past few weeks. The Usos have completely ignored Fatu’s advice, and it has cost the family. Solo Sikoa was kidnapped, and ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ was hit by a car driven by Jaida Parker, who made it known she’s part of 946. Fatu specifically told the Usos they needed to stick together; the three men got split apart, which in turn allowed Parker to target ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ and run him over.
A six-man tag match is set for the October 12th edition of Raw between the Usos and Sikoa against 946. The group run by Royce Keys has been trying to get the attention of Reigns and the rest of The Bloodline for weeks now. With ‘The OTC’ acknowledging 946 for the first time on this past episode of Raw, it seems more apparent than ever that this new faction will get involved in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Money in the Bank. If 946 gets involved in the match, does this give ‘The Megastar’ the opportunity to take advantage and win his first World Championship?
Knight has been a crowd favorite and continues to grow in popularity since 2023. He faced Reigns back in 2023 for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and almost won, if it wasn’t due to the involvement of Sikoa. His growth into ‘The Megastar’ eventually led him to his first championship in WWE when he defeated Logan Paul for the United States Championship back at SummerSlam 2024. Knight lost the title to Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024, but ‘The Megastar’ defeated Nakamura for the title on the March 7th, 2025 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. At WrestleMania 41, the two-time United States Champion lost the title to Fatu. Since then, it’s been all about a World Championship for ‘The Megastar’. Now, he’s closer than ever to achieving that goal if Knight can defeat his biggest rival of his career.
We have to expect 946 to get involved in this match in some way, somehow. The big question is whether ‘The Megastar’ is working with 946. We know how much Knight despises The Bloodline. His recent friendship with Sikoa has shown otherwise, but the two-time United States Champion has a ton of disdain for the World Heavyweight Champion. Will ‘The Megastar’ be the mastermind of 946 to take down The Bloodline, or is Knight just as much of a pawn and a punching bag for 946 as Reigns is? Regardless, whoever wins this electrifying matchup will have to worry about a potential cash-in from the Men’s Money in the Bank winner. 946 could easily beat up both men to allow for a cash-in to happen Saturday night.
For me, my gut is saying that Knight is behind 946. He’s been building himself up as a crowd favorite, hating on Reigns for allowing others to get involved in his matches in the past, only for him to do this in order to win his first World Championship. ‘The OTC’ called ‘The Megastar’ a hypocrite in their opening promo on Raw. The word hypocrite might describe the World Heavyweight Championship feud if Knight is behind the group antagonizing The Bloodline. I think 946 helps Knight win his first World Championship. If a cash-in were to happen on the same night, I believe Reigns and the rest of The Bloodline will get back at Knight and 946, allowing someone like Pénta, Je'Von Evans, or Bron Breakker to cash in on ‘The Megastar’. I don’t think Reigns title reign will continue here, and if he does, ‘The OTC’ and The Bloodline will feud with 946 at Survivor Series: WarGames, with potentially a Keys vs. Reigns match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
