Could a Yankees 2026 All-Star Reach the 50 Home Run Mark?
Throughout the 2026 MLB season, Ben Rice has been a key piece for the New York Yankees’ offense. Even though he’s had his ups and downs during the year, especially with the absence of Aaron Judge, the 27-year-old was still named an all-star for the first time. New York cannot afford to wait on sluggers such as Giancarlo Stanton and Judge as we head closer to the dog days of the season, and will need to rely on Rice more so to push them to a potential postseason push. Although he’s struggled, the 2026 all-star was able to crush 14 home runs since Judge’s last game before being moved to the injured list on May 31st. With almost two months remaining for the season, a career-changing goal could be achieved for the 27-year-old if he can reach the 50 home run mark.
Through 100 games, Rice has belted 31 home runs. This monumental achievement could be obtained, and it certainly isn’t a stretch. For the next 62 games, the 2026 all-star has to be the top offensive weapon within the Bronx Bombers lineup. While this isn’t a role the 27-year-old is familiar with, he’ll have to grow and adapt to the role, especially with Stanton and Judge having the chance to mentor and provide leadership for Rice. We still don’t know when or if Judge will return for the season. That should give the Yankees front office and the guys in the lineup every reason to motivate the 2026 all-star, get him back to form, and have Rice slugging homers left, right, and center.
The Yankees are at a crucial point in their 2026 season. They’re 13 games over .500, but if New York continues to slump and go on multiple losing streaks, their season could be in jeopardy. Rice needs to be the star the Yankees know he can be. The Bronx Bombers need consistent offense and someone to rely on. The 2026 all-star has to be the man who helps New York win games night in and night out. He must gain the confidence to lead this team while two of the Yankees sluggers are out of the lineup. Confidence within Rice for the rest of the year could put him in the grasp of the 50 home run mark, which would do wonders for the 27-year-old beyond the season.
