Eagles Bounce Back Strong in a Win Over the Giants

NFL

Just like that, the Philadelphia Eagles bounce back with a powerful win over the New York Giants. Taking it back home to their stomping grounds, the Eagles were able to pull away with another victory, proving that one misstep doesn’t define this team. After weeks of questioning the offensive calls and missed defensive opportunities, the Eagles answered. With an extraordinary win like this, you begin to wonder what has changed from Week Six to Week Eight.

From the very beginning of the game, the Eagles set the tone. With a 65-yard touchdown by Saquon Barkley on just the second play of the game. This alerted not only the Philly fans, but also any opposing team watching this game to the type of energy the Eagles were going to bring. The offense was ready for any battle they were going to have to encounter in this game, and they were stopping at nothing today. Jalen Hurts knew what needed to be done. With 15/20, 179 yards, five touchdown passes, and zero interceptions, he had determination for his team today. Alongside Hurts, Tank Bigsby and Barkley dominated the offensive side of the game, with both of them contributing over 100+ rushing yards. The Eagles' offense didn’t come to lose today. After feeling disappointed in themselves for the past couple of weeks, their one goal in mind was to reclaim their identity, and they did just that.

Defensively, the Eagles flipped the script. Sacking Jaxson Dart five times throughout the game, they constantly pressured the rookie quarterback and forced him into rushed throws and panicked decisions. The defense made sure to keep the Giants in check and reclaim the line of scrimmage. What stood out most was their ability to tighten up in key moments — third downs, red zone stands, and drive-stalling plays that shut the door on any momentum the Giants tried to build. The front seven brought a new level of physicality that the Eagles have been waiting to see. Not allowing Dart to get comfortable to have better control over this game is exactly what the defense needed to do today.

Even without some of their special players, such as A.J. Brown and Cam Jurgens, being out today due to injury, the Eagles still pulled through. This win was more than just another tally mark on the winning side; it was a moment of reclaiming and redominating. The Eagles had so much to prove against the Giants today after the disappointing loss in Week Six that, in their eyes, should have never happened in the first place. By controlling the game and keeping dominance the entirety of the full 60 minutes, the Eagles showed a different team today that we can hopefully see for the rest of the season. There is still always room for improvement, and with the Eagles having a bye week during Week Nine of the season, we can just imagine the type of energy they will bring against the Green Bay Packers during Week 10.
