Who Are the Spookiest WWE Superstars of All Time?
Halloween is soon upon us, and all the frights and scares grow more and more frightening as the days go by. As we approach the spooky time of the year, we recognize that WWE has been able to produce some of the creepiest and downright disturbing wrestlers in wrestling history. From demons to phenoms, WWE always knows when to entertain its horror and thrilling-loving fans. Every decade has brought a fresh face of fear to the WWE, but who are the spookiest WWE superstars of all time?
The Undertaker
No spooky superstar has been as legendary as The Undertaker. Billed from Death Valley, The Undertaker always promised to put his opponents to rest and claim their souls. It’s no wonder every WWE superstar would stare in fear when Teddy Long would tell them they would go “one-on-one with The Undertaker.” From Hell in a Cell to Buried Alive matches, ‘The Phenom’ paralyzed his opponents with his insane agility and supernatural powers. The Undertaker is credited as an influence on current WWE superstars such as Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. Now a WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker will go down as one of the greatest to ever do it.
The Boogeyman
If you ask a majority of people what their opinions on worms are, most of them will tell you that they are disgusting creatures. However, for The Boogeyman, they are a delicious meal and a weapon used to scare their opponents to death. The Boogeyman had it all, from the facepaint to the creepy entrance and the creepy nature of psychologically getting into his opponent’s heads. Not only did The Boogeyman love to eat worms, he also loved pouring them on his opponents as well. The Boogeyman’s accomplishments in WWE might not stand toe-to-toe with other superstars, but no one can deny that The Boogeyman was fun to watch whenever he stepped into the squared circle.
Bray Wyatt
Surrounded by his “family,” Bray Wyatt conducted himself in front of the WWE universe as a mysterious and unsettling cult leader who would stop at nothing to put a stop to those who were at the very top. Wyatt’s creativity allowed him to create multiple personas throughout his career, including “The Fiend,” who was Wyatt’s most popular and creepiest character ever. “The Fiend’s” ambition to either hurt or heal his opponents made him an unstoppable force that helped Wyatt achieve greatness in his short career. Although Wyatt’s career would be cut short due to health issues that eventually took his life, Wyatt’s impact will never be forgotten, and his characters will be talked about for generations to come.
Jake “The Snake” Roberts
This entry is different from the rest, whereas the others sometimes relied on the supernatural to strike fear into their opponents, Jake Roberts used his promo work and real-life python to bring his opponents down to their knees and cause them to run away in fear. Roberts is considered one of the most underrated microphone workers, as when he gave his promos, his slow and methodical voice delivered his words in an eerie way. Whenever Roberts saw the perfect opportunity in the ring, he would unleash Damien, the massive python he carried with him, and set him on top of his opponents, where they were unable to move or run away until Roberts felt like taking the snake off of them. Roberts might not have been a World Champion throughout his career, but his level of work is memorable nonetheless.
