Everything That Went Right for Ferrari at Spa
The Belgian Grand Prix is one of the most dangerous tracks that Formula 1 has to offer. Drivers have survived, held the trophy in hand, and stepped onto the podium, but others have lost their lives. Fortunately, today, July 27th, 2025, only greatness occurred. Oscar Piastri earned first place at Spa, with his teammate Lando Norris close behind him. Charles Leclerc earned himself P3 in Belgium, with his teammate Lewis Hamilton at P7. Hamilton’s catch-up was spectacular, as he was originally down in P18 and the pit lane after a grueling qualifying session. Throughout the race, he miraculously made his way to join his teammate in the points. The heavy rain delayed the race by almost 80 minutes, but once the racing went ahead, that was where the true drive had finally begun.
Hamilton pulled off a grand number of passes in the rainy conditions of the opening laps at Spa. His win for Driver of the Day comes as no surprise, as he surpassed everyone with his 38.8% of votes. Ferrari truly pulled all their moves today, as the strategy for tires, pace, and passes was outmatched by all other teams. To pull through from starting at the bottom of the grid to earning six valuable team points, it leaves one to wonder if Ferrari is cleaning up their act. Leclerc began his drive at P3 and held onto it till the very end. This shows and proves that the Prince of Monaco just needs his team to support and look out for him, as he has secured 15 points from just this one race.
Hamilton and the Ferrari team helped manage a good climb of 11 places. The seven-time world champion was one of the first drivers to switch from intermediate tires at the crossover point. Both Leclerc and Hamilton surely proved their skills this weekend, even with such unfortunate starting events. The two drivers in red are moving up every week, showing that the team’s connection finally seems in sync. It was certainly a great race today, so make sure to stay tuned for the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, which begins on August 1st!
