Former AEW Champion Makes Their Official WWE Debut

WWE

The WWE Universe was shocked tonight on NXT as ‘The Glamour’ Mariah May made her official WWE debut. May is a former AEW Women’s Champion, winning the title at AEW All In 2024 in front of her home country at Wembley Stadium. However, her run was short-lived, as she lost the world title just a few months later at AEW Grand Slam in Australia 2025, but there was a reason for that. May has been linked to the WWE since late 2024, and following her contract expiration in May 2025, fans knew it was just a matter of time. With that said, this debut came much sooner than expected, and now May has turned the entire wrestling world around.

On the June 3rd, 2025, episode of NXT, new NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne came out to celebrate her title win alongside Fatal Influence members Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx. However, the segment took a quick turn when multiple women started interfering, which then saw a full brawl break out between the roster. The lights then dimmed to the surprise of the crowd, and when they came back on, Mariah May was seen standing on the platform of the Performance Center. This led to the roof being blown off the WWE PC, as every single fan was out on their feet once they saw ‘The Glamour’ arrive. She then cut her first official WWE promo, letting Fatal Influence know they can call her “the next NXT Women’s Champion.”

Many were predicting that Mariah May would make her official WWE debut at WWE Evolution on July 13th, though it’s now clear that she was eager to get on television immediately. The thought of May being on WWE’s developmental brand has already divided the audience, though her time in NXT will likely be short-lived as she is more than ready for the main roster. May leaving AEW to join WWE could end up being one of the biggest moves in the history of wrestling, as the 26-year-old will take over the WWE women’s division when she gets the chance. It’s unknown how long Mariah May will stay in NXT, but what is known is that the landscape of the WWE and the wrestling world has changed.
