Has ‘The Devastator’ Met His Final Match?

UFC

Dominick Reyes has had a career full of ups and downs. He started his career as a high-prospect talent with powerful hitting and peak physicality. He quickly started stacking up impressive wins and earned himself chances at the Championship. However, Reyes will enter a big test in April. One that may be make or break for his career.

Reyes will face Johnny Walker, who will be another difficult matchup for ‘The Devastator’. The 36-year-old has an impressive history of fighters he has taken on. This includes Jon Jones, who gave an extremely close performance that many believed Reyes actually won. This loss turned out to take a larger toll on Reyes as he struggled hard to find his rhythm again. He lost to Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka, and Ryan Spann following his loss to Jones. However, he did start to see a bit of a groove and mounted a small comeback in 2024 and 2025. He defeated Dustin Jacoby, Anthony Smith, and Nikita Krylov. This three-game win streak gave ‘The Devastator’ some much-needed momentum going into his match against Carlos Ulberg in September of 2025. Unfortunately, the comeback ended there, as Reyes walked away defeated once again. This first-round knockout loss raised many questions about the longevity of the 36-year-old light heavyweight. His next fight can be a break for his career as a win can buy him some more time. However, a loss may push him farther into possibly hanging up the gloves. Walker has incredible knockout abilities and has a lot more athleticism than Reyes at this point in their careers.

The 36-year-old will be hoping for a miracle come April as he is looking at a late moment in his career. After a career of ups and downs, it has been extremely difficult for Reyes to find much success in his career. As Walker is a tough opponent, it would be nice for Reyes to earn some extra time in his career and more opportunities to fight. Reyes should throw everything he has out in the octagon, as it may be one of his last.
