History of the Miami International Autodrome

The Miami International Autodrome was officially named in progress back in September 2022. As of the beginning of April 2025, it is officially a two-year-old track and gives more of a street circuit feel. The first race was held on May 7th back in 2022 and won by Max Verstappen. Miami is now the 11th location that Formula 1 has raced in the United States. It is one of the newest built and driven circuits in Formula 1 that has brought lots of support to local businesses and the area's community, as it was ensured they would get full benefits, being in Miami Gardens.

The Circuit Length is 5.412 km, and the race distance is 308.326 km. Verstappen, back in 2023, held the fastest lap record at 1:29.708. The layout features 19 corners, three zones for DRS, three straights, and a place for speeds of over 340km/h. There are also elevation changes that are found between turns 13 and 16. The track contains various flyovers across uneven ground, which makes it more exciting to watch and drive. As for the best places to sit during this exhilarating race at this extraordinary track, near turns one, 11, or 17, as it will give the best chance to see drivers passing each other.

The upcoming Miami Grand Prix is being held on May 4th and is sure to be an exciting race. With Verstappen already taking first place on record for two years straight and Lando Norris earning first place in 2024, it is sure to be an eventful watch. Due to the McLaren driver gaining speed, pace, and talent, along with his teammate, Oscar Piastri, the winner will most likely come down to who does well during the practice, sprints, and qualifying sections of the race. Now that the Miami track has been up and running, as well as the new track in Las Vegas, ground has broken on the new site of the Spanish Grand Prix. It is being called the “Madring” and will officially host the first race weekend in 2026. Until then, make sure to watch the Miami Grand Prix on May 4th!
