How a Giants Super Bowl LVI Champion WR Can Prove Himself Ahead of 2026 Roster Cuts
Odell Beckham Jr. has proved that once a Giant, always a Giant. He has recently played in all of Big Blue's preseason games. Many felt Beckham was brought back and felt for the longest time that the team was prioritizing nostalgia over progress. However, he proved everyone wrong by catching several nearly perfect passes that were thrown to him. After playing in all three preseason games, it seems that head coach John Harbaugh has decided to keep him on the 53-man roster for the season.
Beckham has had a rough few years in the NFL. He played for multiple teams but couldn't find his footing anywhere he landed. In 2024, the veteran wide receiver caught only nine passes for the Miami Dolphins. In 2025, the experienced wideout did not play at all due to a major injury. For the coming season, when the explosive playmaker re-signed in New York, he was given the premise that he had to earn his spot on the team.
Since then, the three-time Pro Bowler has not missed a practice all summer. Beckham has done his best to stay healthy and show New York that he still has what it takes to be a part of this team. In the most recent preseason game, the Giants took on the Jets, and the longtime NFL receiver showed he can still make catches as he did as a rookie. Beckham went for three catches for a total of 53 yards. Overall, he has seven receptions for 76 yards and no touchdowns. However, the veteran wideout did set the team up for being in scoring range.
Each game, the former first-round pick has blitzed and blown past defenses. It’s the speed that has also been picked up during the practices and training camp over the summer. Many of the coaches and Harbaugh like what they have seen. Now that the preseason is over, they have time to really decide whether to keep this current Giants wide receiver on. He’s had a fantastic preseason, but the regular season may be something different for this Big Blue star. The Giants will announce their 53-man roster on August 30th, and he'll most likely be on it.
