How Can the Chiefs Starting TE Stay Valuable?

NFL

Travis Kelce, now being 36 years old, is starting to age. That is clear from his playstyle declining and the fact that he has not been playing at the same level he used to. He had a big Monday night performance, scoring a touchdown and catching seven receptions for 61 yards. This will be a key development to watch as the season progresses, and hopefully, he can start playing at a higher level. There is a chance that the Chiefs are trying to keep him fully healthy and energized for the playoffs, but who knows at this point? The wide receiver core has been pretty solid so far, but they will need to continue to step up since Kelce is not playing his best football anymore.

He has always been a solid blocking tight end as well, but he may have to use that more now that his receiving skills are not as good as they used to be. He will definitely need to start performing better if the Chiefs want to have a chance at making the playoffs. Especially with some key wide receivers hurt and also some not playing their best, this is why Chiefs fans need Kelce to step up even more right now. He is a huge piece of the Chiefs team, both on the field and in the locker room, with his veteran presence.

Overall, the Chiefs have a massive amount of talent, and Travis Kelce has been a big part of that talent for a long time now. This is starting to change with his increase in age, and the fact that he is now 36 years old. He has clearly shown signs of his playstyle going downhill, but we can only hope that it starts to improve more as the season goes on. He is probably going to retire within the next year or two, which is sad for Chiefs fans and sports fans all over the world, but at the same time, that is probably for the best. He already has a long list of great accomplishments, and not only that, but he probably wants to start his post-career with his fiancée, Taylor Swift. Hopefully, Patrick Mahomes can start finding Travis Kelce in the end zone for more touchdowns.
