How the Giants 22-Year-Old Quarterback Will Thrive with Bigger and Better Weapons in 2026

NFL

The Giants have been busy upgrading both their offensive and defensive line during this offseason. The franchise has really set the tone of how they want this team to be and the identity that they are establishing. They have spent time trying to ensure that the future of New York moves forward rather than backward, as it has in the last several years. During the last few weeks, including during the NFL Draft, they have added several weapons to the team's roster. Players that Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart will be able to depend on during the regular season, and make sure that he builds trust within the team.

The Giants brought on two offensive tackles during the 2026 NFL Draft. They have brought on both Francis Mauigoa and J.C. Davis. Players who are coming out of two different colleges but are ready to protect the offensive line and Dart. The Giants' offensive line has struggled in the last several years. Having players such as Andrew Thomas go out with injury and other players like Evan Neal struggling to bring the coverage to the field. Dart needs players who will protect him on the field.

Having these two on the field will actually help the Giants produce bigger, better plays. With the two of them coming in as young and fresh players, they will be able to stop opponents' defensive lines. Having Mauigoa and Davis allows Dart to get the ball out quicker to his receivers or pass it off to his running backs to make sure they get the yardage they are looking for. The Giants have really put a lot of thought into fixing this offensive line. That said, the Giants have also managed to fill other slots, especially when it comes to moving the ball down the field.

With the departure of Wan’Dale Robinson earlier this offseason, the Giants had no choice but to draft another wide receiver. They chose to bring on Malachi Fields to their roster during the draft. Not only was it because of Robinson, but it was also because of wide receiver Malik Nabers, who suffered an injury during the 2025 regular season, putting him out for the rest of the year. If Nabers doesn’t come back the same as he did before, they need to find other options for Dart to get the ball out, too.

They made a great choice with Fields. He came out of playing in colleges such as Notre Dame and Virginia. The former Fighting Irish wide receiver had over 120 career receptions, over 1,700 career yards, and more than 10 career touchdowns. Fields is a bigger guy than most wide receivers. He is big-bodied and a contested-catch threat. He is definitely someone that Dart will be able to use during the regular season. It already raises the stakes for the Giants in numerous ways.

Big Blue has made ends meet to the point of rebuilding this offensive line around Dart. Head coach John Harbaugh and Joe Schoen also made sure that Dart was included in many of their decisions. The young gun has gained some heavy-set weapons that he did not have under former head coach Brian Daboll. If the offensive line can work together as one this season, New York has a shot at a better record this coming season. They still have time to bring in more if needed, but having all of these players for Dart is a fantastic start.
