How the Jaguars Have an Underrated Wide Receiver Group in 2026

NFL

The Jacksonville Jaguars had one of the strongest passing games in the league throughout the second half of the 2025 season. Led by Clemson phenom and former Pro Bowl quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the team went 8-1 in their last nine games with 2,167 total receiving yards and 20 receiving touchdowns. General manager James Gladstone deserves some credit for the quick turnaround, trading for Las Vegas Raiders veteran Jakobi Meyers at the deadline and giving him a three-year, $60 million contract extension after the season. Entering 2026, the Jaguars have the same core receivers in Duval County, making a repeat of the latter 2025 campaign extremely likely. If anything, this core could be one of the most lethal groups in the NFL, especially once you look at the roles each athlete provides to the offense as a whole.

Obviously, the turnaround didn’t happen until after the franchise acquired Meyers. The former Patriot is known for his great route-running abilities and high football IQ, making him a perfect fit to lead a young Jaguars team. Through the nine games he played in Jacksonville, Meyers racked up 42 receptions for 483 yards and three touchdowns. His leadership and expertise were crucial to the team as a whole, as Meyers provided a lot more than just what was on the stat sheet. One struggling receiver that Meyers helped was the second-year wideout out of LSU, Brian Thomas. Throughout the opening weeks of the 2025 season, Thomas struggled with dropped passes and a lack of playmaking. However, after Meyers joined the club, Thomas saw a significant increase in yards per reception and yards per target. If anything, the former Tiger is due for a bounce-back season in 2026.

The Jaguars may also have one of the sneakiest names for fantasy football lovers, as Parker Washington shocked the NFL world in 2025 with his best season yet, even changing how everyone looked at the Jaguars passing game. In 16 games, the former Nittany Lion racked up 58 receptions for 847 yards and five touchdowns. He hit his career best in every important category, becoming a top weapon for head coach Liam Coen to feed. Washington also played extremely well in the Wild Card matchup against the Buffalo Bills, leading the team with seven receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown. If 2025 was just the appetizer into what he can provide with a larger workload, a successful 2026 could be the full-course meal. Not to forget, the Jaguars also have sophomore Travis Hunter returning from injury. Although Hunter will likely have more snaps on the defensive side of the ball, the young athlete can surely still provide some meaningful receptions to the Jaguars offense.
