Karrion Kross Should be in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Karrion Kross has gained a lot of popularity on social media over the past three months. From his story with AJ Styles to his intense promo during WrestleMania weekend, he has been receiving huge fan reactions, whether from his matches on Main Event or backstage segments. He is almost reaching the level of popularity that LA Knight was in late 2023. The match to determine the last spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match has been confirmed, but fans are disappointed to learn that Kross is not in it.
The final men’s qualifying match will take place on the June 1st edition of Monday Night Raw, featuring CM Punk, AJ Styles, and El Grande Americano. Fans are especially excited to see Punk and Styles compete for the first time in WWE, but this will be their first encounter since 2004, although they are less enthusiastic about Americano being involved. Many believe that Chad Gable is the man behind the mask of Americano. Gable had already lost a qualifying match against Penta and Dragon Lee, with Penta coming out on top. If Gable is indeed behind the mask, it means he is getting a second chance, which feels unfair to the other ten superstars who failed in their qualifying matches as well as to stars like Kross, who did not get the opportunity at all.
The reason Kross is not getting the push fans want might be because both he and his wife Scarlett's contracts are up in the summer, and they have not reached new deals with WWE yet. It is unfortunate, especially since Kross has become a fan favorite. He was a strong contender to win the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania weekend, but fell short. The match was eventually won by Carmelo Hayes, who is also not in the match after losing his qualifying match to Andrade on the May 30th edition of SmackDown. He also cut a work-shoot promo about being a “good soldier” and how that can lead to getting fired. His popularity grew so much that his “String Them Up" T-shirt became WWE Shop’s top-selling item, outselling stars like John Cena and Jey Uso. Kross not being part of Money in the Bank feels like a slap in the face to WWE fans.
