NXT Women's Title Match Set for Evolution
Tonight on NXT, Jordynne Grace defeated Jaida Parker, Lash Legend, and Izzi Dame in a Fatal Four Way match to become the number-one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. The Juggernaut will now face the NXT Women’s Champion, Jacy Jayne, at WWE Evolution on July 13th. For two weeks, Grace competed in what NXT GM Ava called the Evolution Eliminator. This was an opportunity for eight women to earn a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Eight women competed to qualify for the final Fatal Four Way match, which was won by Grace. Now, the first match of Evolution is set, and both Grace and Jayne will get to show the world why they are a part of the best women’s division in WWE.
For Grace, this is an opportunity for her to call herself the best women’s wrestler in NXT. This is her second straight opportunity at the women’s title because she failed to beat Stephanie Vaquer at WWE Battleground during Memorial Day weekend. Jayne, the Rockstar, already shocked the world when she beat Vaquer for the title, and now she gets the chance to beat one of the strongest women in all of WWE. This is a huge opportunity for the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion as she gets more opportunities to show she can be a star as a singles competitor. Jayne is a part of the Fatal Influence stable in NXT, and while there are rumblings of dissension in the group, Jayne is showing that she can stand out on her own.
The two wrestlers have fought before, but that was when Grace was in TNA and Jayne was just starting to find herself as a singles competitor. Now, both women are set to clash under the bright lights of Evolution. The Juggernaut will look to claim the NXT Women’s Championship for the first time in her career, and Jayne will look to continue her momentum by defeating someone who has had her number. It will be an interesting clash of styles as Grace’s strength and athleticism will have to compete with Jayne’s quickness and power. In what is going to be a historic night in Atlanta, the winner will get the chance to etch their name in history.
