Who Should Face ‘The Rockstar’ Jacy Jayne at Evolution?

WWE

On the June 10th episode of NXT, it was announced that over the next two weeks, eight women would be competing to determine the number one contender to ‘The Rockstar’ Jacy Jayne’s NXT Women’s Championship. Next week, on June 17th, there will be four singles matches between the eight superstars; the winners will advance into a fatal four-way, which will be scheduled to take place on June 24th. The superstar who walks out as number one contender in two weeks will face Jayne for the championship at the all-women’s spectacle Evolution. While NXT’s newest arrival, Blake Monroe, is not within this tournament, the eight women competing all have the attributes to be an interesting NXT Women’s Champion. With Jayne and Fatal Influence being heels, it’s only right that a baby face eventually takes the belt off of her. It’s time to speculate who should be the one who will be appearing at Evolution and will try and take the belt from Jayne.

Jordynne Grace

‘The Juggernaut’ should be the favorite to come out as the number one contender. She fell short during the fatal four-way at Stand & Deliver, and back then, she even seemed like the favorite to dethrone ‘La Primera’ Stephanie Vaquer. While Fatal Influence has the odds stacked in its favor, with it usually being a three-to-one situation, Jordynne Grace has the power and the ability to wear down Fallon Henley and Jasmine Nyx. While Giulia and Vaquer put the NXT Women’s Division in another stratosphere, Grace furthers how deep and talented the division is with her size, strength, and overall presence. Evolution is a premium live event ready to showcase the best of the women's superstars. ‘The Juggernaut’ has been on the cusp of being champion and taking it to that next level, which will get promoted to the main roster. If Evolution is showcasing the best women’s talent, Grace certainly has to be at the top of the list of who should be shown at this historical premium live event. Next week, she’s set to take on Lola Vice, whose fist certainly doesn’t lie, and while Vice is a strong candidate to eventually be NXT Women’s Champion, I do not see her overcoming the beast that is Jordynne Grace.

Zaria

It’s very surprising not to see Zaria win any gold thus far during her time in NXT. Just as a singles competitor, she caught a lot of fans’ attention. Now paired with NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruka, it would be crazy to see the newly formed best buds both have gold around their waist, making the women’s locker room jealous and angry, of this friendship that consists of two completely different individuals, which seemingly formed out of nowhere. Zaria’s stock in NXT has risen significantly week by week. She has the chance to showcase her amazing moveset at a historical event if she can pull off two wins over the next two weeks. She’ll be facing off against Izzi Dame on June 17th. There’s certainly a chance Dame and ‘The Culling’ try to pull away with getting their faction back on top after the loss of Brooks Jenson. Yet, if it’s just a one-on-one, there’s no doubt that Zaria will overcome the obstacle that is perhaps the mastermind behind ‘The Culling’ in Dame.

Jaida Parker

While Jaida Parker is supposed to be a “heel”, the NXT crowd and universe love Ms. Parker. She never backs down from anyone or any fight. Over the past several months, we’ve seen Ms. Parker rise to the cusp of that main event scene. She’s challenged for the NXT Women’s Championship multiple times but never succeeded. WWE sees so much potential in her that she even competed in the Royal Rumble back in February. Perhaps it’s time to put Parker on top. If she wins it all at Evolution, the era of Ms. Parker would continue an awesome run of incredible talent as NXT Women’s Champion. She’ll be facing Thea Hail next Tuesday, and while Hail has the capabilities to be in that main-event scene in the future, it should be Parker who pulls off and gets the win to qualify for the fatal four-way match.
