Ravens Look to Extend Winning Streak Versus Jets

NFL

The Baltimore Ravens host the New York Jets on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, in a Week 12 game that holds more weight for one team than the other. Baltimore is making a push for the AFC North crown after a dismal start to their season. On the other hand, the New York Jets have essentially announced their plan to tank by trading two defensive superstars for a handful of early draft picks. Sunday’s matchup provides plenty of storylines, even if the playoffs are within reach for one team and in the rearview mirror for another.

Playoff Push Started in October for Baltimore

Baltimore enters the weekend at 5-5, making a strong push to be the AFC North Champions for the third consecutive season. The Ravens entered their Week Seven bye at 1-5, including a four-game losing streak at the hands of Detroit, Kansas City, Houston, and the LA Rams. After their bye week, the Ravens pulled out four consecutive wins, getting them back to .500 for the first time since Week Two. After a home win versus the Bears, and road wins against the Dolphins, Vikings, and Browns, ESPN gives the Ravens a 60% chance to win the AFC North despite being one game behind the Steelers in the standings. A win versus the Jets would be huge for Baltimore as they try to close the gap to the Steelers. A lot can change even with a Baltimore win this Sunday, as the Ravens must play both the Steelers and Bengals twice in the last seven weeks of the season.

Are the Jets Eliminated?

The New York Jets are still hanging on to the less than one percent chance they have to make the playoffs. One percent is better than zero, so the Jets are not rolling over just yet. However, with how stacked the AFC has been this year, it seems impossible for a 2-8 team to somehow pull a playoff berth out of thin air. Just before the trade deadline, the Jets traded away both CB Sauce Gardner to the Colts and DT Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys for a handful of early draft picks. This type of fire sale does not happen to contenders, and many believe the Jets are preparing for a restart to their never-ending rebuild.

Tyrod Taylor Returns to Baltimore

For the second time since leaving Baltimore in 2015 and the first time since 2016, former backup QB and Super Bowl XLVII Champion Tyrod Taylor will be playing against the team that drafted him. Taylor has not been a consistent starter since earning his contract in Buffalo, so the number of matchups where Taylor took snaps against his first team has been limited. Following the benching of Justin Fields, Taylor will get the chance to add Baltimore to his win column. In 2025, Taylor appeared in three games, almost winning his lone start against the Buccaneers.

Potentially Record-Setting Day for Mark Andrews

Mark Andrews has been in the media a lot in the last two weeks as he was inching closer to breaking two of Derrick Mason’s all-time receiving records. Before the Week 11 win over Cleveland, he was seven receptions and four yards shy of breaking both the all-time franchise record for yards and receptions. Andrews quickly broke the yards record but was only able to haul in three of the seven receptions needed. If Andrews can bring in four passes on Sunday, he will break the all-time franchise record for receptions. The 2018 third-round selection will also officially be the all-time franchise leader in receptions, yards, and touchdowns, earning himself the Baltimore Ravens all-time receiving triple crown. This has nothing to do with Andrews’ franchise records, but his game-winning 35-yard rushing touchdown on the fourth-and-one fake tush push against Cleveland was his first career rushing touchdown.

Can the Ravens Overcome the Redzone Woes?

The 2025 Ravens have been awful in short-yardage situations, especially in the red zone. In 2024, the Ravens were ranked first in red-zone touchdowns at a 74% success rate. However, in 2025, they find themselves ranked 28th at an awful 47% of redzone drives ending in touchdowns. Fans have not seen these numbers since 2022, when Lamar Jackson missed five full games due to injury. Some of the short-yardage and red zone problems can be attributed to the struggling interior offensive line, resulting in Derrick Henry having nowhere to run and, in turn, quick three-and-outs.

Final Prediction: Ravens Defeat Jets 28-16

Knocking on wood, the Ravens should have no problem taking down the Jets at home this Sunday. Without Quinnen Williams wreaking havoc in the trenches, the key to success will be to get Derrick Henry on a roll. If the Ravens can get into second-and-short situations rather than third-and-average, the drives will last longer and reach deeper into New York territory. Another thing to look for is how well the Baltimore defense can play against a Jets squad led by Tyrod Taylor, Breece Hall, and Adonai Mitchell. Even though Marlon Humphrey is out, the Ravens’ defense is filled with stars who are embodying what it means to ‘Play Like a Raven’. Tune into Ravens versus Jets on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. EST on CBS or Paramount+.
