Should the MFT Storyline Come to an End?

WWE

One of the longest-running storylines in the past few years has been the rise and fall of The Bloodline. From integrating members to eventual backstabbing, the group has seen its fair shares of changes throughout the years. One of the factions that resulted from the Bloodline split was the MFTs, led by former Bloodline enforcer Solo Sikoa. The group has had its ups and downs on SmackDown, with the recent releases of JC Mateo and Tonga Loa shaking up the group in an unexpected way. With only three remaining members of the group and a never-ending storyline within them, it feels as if WWE should put an end to their story and split them apart once and for all.

After Sikoa witnessed his own cousin, Roman Reigns, lose the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, he knew it was time to step up as the leader of the Bloodline during Reigns’ absence. He got rid of The Usos and brought his own family to the group in the form of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. After failing to capture the title from Rhodes at SummerSlam 2024, Sikoa continued leading the Bloodline, holding on to the sacred Ula Fala until he lost it to ‘The OTC’ on the first episode of Raw on Netflix in 2025. He would add Mateo and Talla Tonga to the group and acknowledge them as the MFTs. Although the MFTs did have a bit of success, such as capturing the WWE Tag Team Championship on two separate occasions, not all was well within the group, as tensions between Sikoa and Tama Tonga began creeping in. Although a split has been teased for quite some time, WWE has yet to pull the trigger, extending the storyline much longer than it needed to be.

The storyline has been plagued with long-term booking that seemingly has gone nowhere, including a long feud with The Wyatt Sicks that saw the MFTs win a majority of the time. The feud between both groups helped no one in the end, as all the members of the Wyatt Sicks have been released. The MFTs would also fall victim to the releases, as Mateo and Loa also found themselves on the chopping block. With Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga remaining in the group, there is now a certainty that WWE will finally put an end to the MFTs and have them all go their separate ways. Tama and Talla Tonga might continue to work together as a team, but they will first have to split themselves from Sikoa. This is where the split can happen, as Tama Tonga has felt separated from the group even as they work together. A babyface turn for one half of Guerrillas of Destiny or G.O.D. can help elevate him to new heights within WWE. This will lead to Sikoa finally breaking out on his own, without a support group to aid him in any way.

The Bloodline storylines have brought many entertaining moments to the fans, but with almost everyone doing their own thing nowadays, and with the original members seemingly reforming the group on Raw, it’s time for WWE to split up the MFTs and put their story to rest. All three remaining men are talented and will no doubt find themselves ready for whatever comes next, whether it’s in the Tag Team Division or competing for mid-card titles. Their story has gone on for too long and it needs to have a fitting conclusion. Whatever comes next for the three men, they'll be sure to do it at their very best and without having to be glued to the Bloodline name.
