Taking a Look at What Aston Martin Has Done So Far This Season

After a fifth-place finish in the Teams’ Championship during the 2024 season, Aston Martin severely lacked pace at the start of 2025. Fortunately, on the bright side, the team has earned 52 points so far, and it is only halfway through the season! Currently in sixth place for the championship, drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll have had their ups and downs for sure. Here is a look at what went best and what went worst up until the halfway point.

Starting off strong, Alonso had the best place for the team, earning P5 in the Hungarian Grand Prix. After some major upgrades to the car, Alonso was able to snag those extremely valuable points and has continued to do so, except for during the Belgian Grand Prix. Stroll was able to double those points as he finished in P7. The two-time World Champion, Alonso, has outqualified the young Stroll during each weekend of the 2025 season so far. Unfortunately for Stroll, he has not placed ahead of his teammate on the grid since the 2024 season at the British Grand Prix.

One of the lesser moments of the season so far was when the men in green and white both placed last during Qualifying in Silverstone. With this devastation, they were also unable to progress further than P14 and P17 on race day. The team was left with much to decide as well as much to change. The amount of data analysis they had to work with was both a blessing and a curse. They made changes, of course, helping them further their pace and team strategy.

Currently on the move to earn seventh place in the Teams’ Championship is Kick Sauber, who have 51 points so far. Standing in that seventh placement, they are only one point away from passing Aston Martin. The team is in the hunt, chasing fifth place. Holding that spot now is Williams, clutching their 70 points, and only going further. As Formula 1 comes back to the track for the Dutch Grand Prix on August 31st, we can only hope to see Stroll and Alonso fly in their Aston Martins.
