The Giants Head to Chicago to Take On the Bears
The New York Giants are on the road again this week. This week, Big Blue is going to Chicago to take on the 5-3 Bears. It hasn’t been an easy ride for this New York team, considering they have lost nearly all their games on the road this season. However, the team, the franchise, and the fans are doing their best to look at the upside of this game for Week Ten. Here are a few things to watch during the Giants and Bears Matchup.
Finding the Momentum
The Giants are 0-5 on the road. They have one of the longest losing streaks when they are away from their home in the Meadowlands. The Giants' most significant area of struggle is finding the rhythm and the momentum. They are missing current team members, such as Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo. Since then, the Giants have lost their momentum as these two star players have been sidelined due to injuries. Skattebo and Jaxson Dart were a dangerous combination, but since then, Dart has needed to rebuild that rhythm with other players. He has so far found a way with Wan’Dale Robinson, but it's just a matter of getting the offensive line in gear to protect him. It’s something that needs improvement, but the Giants are managing to get by. Getting that rhythm going again will help the ball move up the field faster and score more points than they have lost on the board this season.
A Promising Offensive Line
The offensive line seemed promising. However, this has not been the case in every game played. They have done the best they can, and at times, they are still struggling to protect their quarterback. However, when the Giants are on the move, the offensive line can become hard at work, especially when Dart passes the ball to tight end Theo Johnson or Daniel Bellinger. Two players who have stepped up this season. Having these two since Nabers and Skattebo went out for the season has made a difference, and they have done their best to work with Dart and their teammates. They don’t have that many openings, but they have enough to, for the most part, keep their opponents at bay.
A Broken Defensive Line
The part that the Giants are really struggling with, which may hurt them in this week's matchup, is their defensive line. The defensive line has really fallen apart since the team lost Paulson Adebo, among a few others. Brian Burns has been doing most of the work, and the defensive line needs to get it together and prove that they have what it takes to be a decent line. This defense does have a chance, though, against the Bears. They have had a decent amount of turnovers this season from quarterback Caleb Williams. This is something that this defensive line needs to keep an eye on in this game. If this is the case, the Giants should be in decent shape for this week.
