Three Names to Look Out for on Draft Day for the 2026 New York Giants

NFL

The New York Giants have a lot of searching to do for this month's NFL Draft. With plenty of holes to fill on an up-and-coming team, the front office will do its best to find the players that fit on the roster. With high expectations next season, this is poised to be one of the most important drafts in recent history for the ‘G-Men’. With that, here are three prospects that will definitely be on the horizon when the Giants are on the clock.

Sonny Styles - Linebacker - Ohio State

If there's one name that time and time again has been linked with New York, it has to be Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles. Styles is a defender who can play a multitude of positions at the highest level and fits exactly what the Giants need. Many predictions have Styles as the frontrunner for the Giants' fifth overall pick, with his combination of strength and speed making him a highly touted prospect. This guy came out blazing at the NFL combine, running a 4.46 40-yard dash, which led all linebackers this year. If the Giants get a shot at pulling the trigger on a prospect like him, it could pay big time.

Carnell Tate - Wide Receiver - Ohio State

Another name that has caught the eyes of many college and NFL Fans is Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate. The Giants lost Wan’Dale Robinson to the Titans via free agency, so another pass catcher to line up beside Malik Nabers is a need for the ‘G-Men’. Tate has been praised by scouts as being a polished route runner and a player who has the ability to translate quickly to the NFL level. If Giants general manager Joe Schoen wants to help his young offense, Tate could be the pick that does that.

Monsoor Delane - Cornerback - LSU

Defense, most particularly the secondary, remains a weakness for the Giants. So, to fix that, the Giants could go many ways in the draft. When it comes to cornerbacks, LSU’s Monsoor Delane is who the Giants need to prioritize. With aggressive one-on-one coverage throughout college and zero touchdowns allowed in 2025, Delane seems like a can't-miss prospect. The Giants' lone solid producing cornerback, Cor’Dale Flott, was lost in free agency, also to the Titans. Delane would step right in and play a pivotal role. Most experts predict he would become the top corner immediately on the roster, addressing the Giants' biggest weakness on defense.

The New York Giants are not entering this year's draft to just add some depth. They are drafting to complete a roster that can fight for a playoff spot. Whether it is a hybrid athlete such as Styles, a stable receiver like Tate, or a shutdown defensive back like Delane, the ‘G-Men’ need to hit on big-time players this draft. ‘Big Blue’ fans will have one question to answer come draft night. Do the Giants prioritize defensive ability or offensive explosiveness next season? No matter what happens, these big-time names are gonna be on the horizon for the New York Giants.
