Week Six Fantasy Football Winners
If the 2025 NFL Season has told us anything through six weeks, it is that the NFL is extremely unpredictable, and we know nothing. The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles fell to the New York Giants in the Meadowlands in a decisive upset, 34-17. The Ravens limp into the bye week at an unexpected 1-5 record, Baker Mayfield seems to be an MVP frontrunner, and the Jets almost beat the Broncos in London despite allowing Justin Fields to be sacked nine times. Week Six also featured at least seven players with more than 30 fantasy points. Some were expected to have a big game or two throughout the season, but others remained on the waiver wire in many leagues until the starter went down, and the backup seized the opportunity. Here are eight players who I believe deserve recognition for their performance in Week Six of the 2025 NFL Season.
RB Rico Dowdle – (33.9 Fantasy Points)
Chuba Hubbard was inactive for the second straight game, allowing for one of the best stories of the week. The Dallas Cowboys came into Carolina to face their former running back Rico Dowdle. Dowdle said in a media session that his former team better “buckle up” for the game on Sunday. Dowdle ran the ball 30 times for 183 yards, adding four receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown for back-to-back games with more than 30 fantasy points. Dowdle did fumble the ball, but the Panthers recovered, eventually defeating the Cowboys 30-27 on a walk-off field goal from Ryan Fitzgerald. Dowdle said after the game that the Cowboys did not buckle up, and he undoubtedly made them pay. It may have been a different game if Micah Parsons was still playing for Dallas. If Hubbard is out for another week, Dowdle is a must-start, but the backfield situation is unclear if Hubbard suits up against the Jets in Week Seven.
RB Josh Jacobs – (32 Fantasy Points)
Josh Jacobs is not someone who would make this list if he had anywhere between 20-25 points because of the high ceiling the Packers’ RB has had since August. However, Jacobs also had his second consecutive game with 30 or more fantasy points, due to a high volume of carries, a handful of receptions for good yardage, and multiple rushing touchdowns. In Week Six versus Cincinnati, Jacobs rushed the ball 18 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns, adding five receptions for 57 yards through the air, propelling the Packers to a 27-18 win over the Joe Flacco-led Bengals. There is no doubt in my mind that Jacobs should always be in starting lineups for the rest of the season, barring an injury.
RB De’Von Achane – (31 Fantasy Points)
De’Von Achane is in the same boat, but a different one than Jacobs. Achane has recorded 16 or more fantasy points in each game for the Dolphins in 2025, but he only broke 20 points once in Week Two. However, in Week Six, the third-year RB recorded his fourth-career 30+ fantasy point game, with the most recent coming in Week 16 of 2024. In the 29-27 loss to the Chargers, Achane rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, while adding 4 receptions for 22 yards. Achane is most known for his speed, first noticed in the 70-20 win over the Broncos in 2023, rushing for 203 yards and four total touchdowns. Just like Jacobs, Achane deserves to be in starting lineups since he is one of two or three reliable parts of a rocky Miami offense.
RB Cam Skattebo – (31 Fantasy Points)
The New York Football Giants are onto something in East Rutherford. Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo are giving life to the fans in MetLife Stadium, which could not have been more evident than the 34-17 upset, taking down the defending Super Bowl champions from Philadelphia. The human wrecking ball was running through defenders for all 60 minutes, rushing for 98 yards on 19 carries, scoring three touchdowns. Dart was also able to score on the ground, making the rookie duo the first since 1980 to add one or more rushing touchdowns in the same game of their rookie seasons. Tyrone Tracy essentially lost all momentum from 2024, losing most of the snap share to Skattebo. For the ceiling upside, start Skattebo as long as he is healthy.
RB Bijan Robinson – (35.8) and WR Drake London – (31.8 Fantasy Points)
The Falcons had the Bills’ number for the entire game, stifling Josh Allen and James Cook while feeding the ball to both Bijan Robinson and Drake London. Bijan Robinson is a different breed. He has power, speed, and is elusive. Robinson finished with a career-high 238 all-purpose yards, thanks to an 81-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter of the 24-14 win over the Bills on Monday Night Football. He was able to hit a different gear and outrun all Buffalo defenders on that run, and make others miss on every other run. Drake London caught 10 passes from Michael Penix Jr. for 158 yards and a nine-yard touchdown. London almost added a second touchdown to the box score as the first half expired, but stepped out of bounds at the one-yard line with no time remaining. Both players recorded their highest fantasy output of the young season, but not by much. Bijan scored 28 points in Week Four, and London scored 26 in the same game. Robinson and London are both high-value starts, but to play devil’s advocate, London will only be as good as Penix.
WR George Pickens – (31.8 Fantasy Points)
With the absence of CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens has capitalized on the WR1 opportunity in an offense that loves to air out the ball. The former Steeler caught nine of his 11 targets for 168 yards and a touchdown. Lamb has not played since leaving early in the Week Three matchup in Chicago, allowing Pickens to put up 19 receptions for 359 yards and four touchdowns in three games. Except for the Week One loss to the Eagles, Pickens has scored at least one touchdown in each game so far in 2025. Lamb’s timetable for a return is still in question, with a chance to play in Week Seven, but fantasy owners should ride Pickens’ momentum into the Week Seven home matchup versus the Commanders.
WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba – (30.2 Fantasy Points)
A true contender for Offensive Player of the Year, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is continuously proving that he is a true WR1 week in and week out. Catching eight of his 13 targets for 162 yards and a touchdown, JSN recorded his third positional top-five fantasy performance, and his second consecutive as the WR3, becoming the WR2 for the season, just behind Rams’ WR Puka Nacua. Smith-Njigba has scored in three of the last four games, recording four 100-yard games. He is another must-start type of player, especially if he can continue putting up great performances like this.
Honorable Mentions (Patrick Mahomes, Dallas Goedert, Ladd McConkey, Brian Thomas Jr., Broncos D/ST)
I did not expect more than eight players to score more than 30 fantasy points in a single game this week. It takes the recognition away from certain players who performed extremely well, but not as well as others. For example, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes scored four touchdowns in a two-possession win over the Detroit Lions. Eagles TE Dallas Goedert recorded 110 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Giants, leading all tight ends with 26 fantasy points. Ladd McConkey was able to capitalize on the absence of Quentin Johnston, with 23 points for himself. Brian Thomas Jr. was able to have his best game of the season so far with eight receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown, also putting up 23 fantasy points. Lastly, the Broncos' defense did not score the most fantasy points on the week for a defense, but Denver sacked Jets QB Justin Fields nine times in a 13-11 Denver win in London, which is truly dominant, and a turnover or two could have gotten them a spot on the list of fantasy football winners of Week Six.
