Chilean soccer fans awoke today to the most wonderful and unexpected news of the year. 40-year-old goalkeeper from Cape Verde, Vozinha, will be joining local powerhouse club Colo-Colo. The 40-year-old goalkeeper became an international sensation after he participated in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where his role for his national team stood out as one of the greatest performances of the World Cup. It was widely speculated that the player would receive multiple offers from different clubs after the World Cup, and now the star goalkeeper has found a team to stay with.

There is an entire ocean separating Cape Verde and Portugal from Chile. Up until today, the star goalkeeper played for Chaves, a Portuguese club team that participates in La Liga Portugal 2.
