What Is the Favor ‘The Ring General’ Will Ask of ‘Paul Heyman?

WWE

Gunther has been one of WWE’s biggest success stories. From becoming the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history to winning the World Heavyweight Championship multiple times, Gunther has done it all. ‘The Ring General’ has also received the distinction of retiring three legends of professional wrestling: Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles. Gunther is preparing for his showdown with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 42, but could the reason the match exists lead to ‘The Ring General’ retiring another legend down the line?

‘The Visionary’ was busy with his own task of taking down The Vision, the faction that he created that also turned on him when he went down with an injury, forcing him to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship. Rollins was prepared to put a beating on ‘The Oracle’ Paul Heyman when he was suddenly choked out by Gunther for no specific reason. ‘The Ring General’ would try to sneak attack Rollins once again the following week, but ‘The Visionary’ was prepared and laid out Gunther. As the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion made his way backstage, he was greeted by Heyman, who thanked him for attacking Rollins and protecting him from an attack. Gunther shook Heyman’s hand but told him that if this was a favor, Heyman would have to return him an even bigger favor. Although the favor wasn’t mentioned on this occasion, one could only envision what the favor will be considering that SummerSlam will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota later this year.

Gunther has already retired three legends, and adding a fourth to his accomplishments would certainly add more glamour to his career. There’s a certain ‘Beast Incarnate’ from Minneapolis named Brock Lesnar. Heyman continues to be the advocate for Lesnar and is currently at his side while ‘The Beast Incarnate’ prepares for ‘The Ruler’ Oba Femi in their match at WrestleMania 42. There is a strong possibility that Lesnar retires this year in front of his hometown at SummerSlam, and who better to give the rub in his final match than the man who has received the nickname ‘The Career Killer.’ Lesnar would look strong in his final match in front of his hometown crowd against a worthy opponent, while Gunther continues to back up his nickname by ending the career of one of WWE’s most dangerous men in history.

Gunther versus Lesnar has all the backing to become one of WWE’s most hard-hitting encounters in history. Lesnar has done it all in this business and it’s only fitting that he passes the torch to someone as lethal in the ring as Gunther. As for ‘The Ring General,’ a win versus Lesnar allows him to continue being WWE’s biggest heel in the company while adding to his accolades. While both men have other business to attend to at WrestleMania 42, their paths will eventually cross down the line, and there’s no better way to do it than in Lesnar’s backyard in his final match in WWE.
