When Will a Two-Time WWE Women's Champion Return from Injury?
Bianca Belair has been out of action since suffering her first WrestleMania loss in April in a Triple Threat Match for the Women’s World Championship. Belair suffered broken fingers in the match, and besides a video vignette that aired on SmackDown a couple of months back and being the special guest referee for the Jade Cargill vs. Naomi match at Evolution, the two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion has been out of action indefinitely. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is still no definite return date for the former SEC Track and Field star. So, the biggest question that the WWE Universe has is when will the “EST of the WWE” return?
Her injury is far more severe than initially thought. Usually, broken fingers will keep a person out for a couple of months with surgery. However, we are approaching the end of the year, and the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble winner has not hinted or teased that a return is imminent. In a recent interview with Adrian Gonzalez, she addressed the fans who have been asking for her return. “I just wanna say to all my fans, thank you for all the love, all the support. I hear you, I see you all online when you’re asking when I’m coming back, and that you miss me,” Bealir said. “All I can say is be ready, stay tuned. The EST always comes through and shows up and shows out, so I’ll be back soon.” That is very positive news to hear from the former SmackDown Women’s Champion, but it still leaves fans guessing about when she will return.
The Women’s Division on both brands has changed since Belair’s departure. On the red brand, Stephanie Vaquer is the new Women’s World Champion, and on the blue brand, Belair’s former tag team partner, Cargill, could be crowned the new Women’s Champion tomorrow night on Saturday Night’s Main Event. The EST has already stated that SmackDown is her home, and she has some unfinished business there. It would be intriguing to see her start a program with her former tag team partner, especially if it is over the Women’s Championship.
Overall, Bianca Belair is a homegrown WWE superstar. She is one of the company's most popular stars, and her return will generate excitement for both the fans and the WWE Women’s Division. For a star of her nature, the WWE may make her return a secret, and she could return to a big pop in the Women’s Royal Rumble match in January. Whatever the case, the fans miss the EST, and she misses the fans. Whenever she gets the all clear to come back, the WWE Universe cannot wait to welcome her back with open arms and to see where her WWE journey takes her next.
