Which Packers Will Explode in 2026 Following Training Camp?

NFL

The Green Bay Packers have had a very successful start to training camp thus far, in preparation for the 2026 season. It’s been 15 years since the Packers won their last Super Bowl title, as the fans continue to crave another championship with this new roster. Quarterback Jordan Love has been the starter for three seasons now, solidifying himself as their long-term franchise player. The organization has continued to build around him, and expectations are sky-high heading into this year, especially for head coach Matt LaFleur. The clock is ticking for him to get his team further into the playoffs after multiple seasons of coming up short in the postseason. Fortunately, so far, there have been major standouts in camp that can help them return to form

Wide receiver Matthew Golden is the biggest story on the team, with many fans hoping he can be a major star for years to come. The rookie was drafted 23rd overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, but had an underwhelming first year. Golden caught for 361 yards and no touchdowns, but earned his first touchdown in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. Since then, the former Texas Longhorn has been working hard in the offseason, understanding how difficult it is in the NFL. Most recently, during the Packers’ Annual Family Night event, Golden hauled in a 57-yard touchdown to excite the crowd. The second-year receiver has been making plays all offseason, with improved route running and catching ability. Golden is primed for a breakout season and will definitely be a major contributor for the Packers in 2026.

Golden isn’t the only receiver that could impress this year, as wide receiver Savion Williams has been a surprise. As wide receiver Jayden Reed has been dealing with an injury, Williams has been allowed to step up. The speedster was drafted in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Packers’ second receiver of the night. He played a background role in his rookie season, mainly there for depth on the roster. Williams earned five catches during Family Night, which included a 60-yard touchdown. The Packers need more weapons for Love, and the rookie may be able to earn himself a starting role in 2026 and make a much larger impact. Williams has continued to grow throughout camp and will be a player to watch during the season.
