Who Attacked a Two-Time Intercontinental Champion at the 2026 Royal Rumble?
The 2026 Royal Rumble brought a lot of shocking moments and surprising moments, but none was more shocking than what happened before the start of the Men’s Royal Rumble match. As Bron Breakker was making his way to the ring as the second entrant, a masked man suddenly appeared out of nowhere and attacked Breakker. The mysterious attacker delivered a superkick and a curb stomp on the outside before throwing Breakker into the ring, allowing Oba Femi to eliminate him as soon as the bell rang. Questions surrounding who could be behind the mask are still unanswered, but there are multiple culprits that might have donned the mask in order to take out ‘Unpredictable Badass.’ Could Breakker’s attacker be someone he turned against, or might it be someone from his own inner circle?
Seth Rollins
The obvious choice of who attacked Breakker is Seth Rollins. On the Raw after Clash in Paris, Breaker speared Rollins, effectively kicking him out as the leader of The Vision. Rollins has since been out of action with an injury, and with the expected return date being so far away, one would question whether the six-time World Champion had already recovered from his injuries. However, Rollins is known as ‘The Architect,’ and planning out this attack as a way to get revenge on The Vision is something he might have planned out. The former six-time World Champion wants his revenge against the entire faction, and screwing them over one by one seems like the perfect revenge plot.
Austin Theory
The original masked man made his appearance at Survivor Series WarGames 2025, where he attacked CM Punk and helped The Vision’s team win the match. The masked man was later revealed to be Austin Theory, who told Paul Heyman that he wanted to be a part of his vision for the future of WWE. However, what if Theory isn’t actually telling the truth? What if Theory is actually a double agent sent by Rollins to destroy The Vision on the inside? It would make a lot of sense for Theory to team with Rollins, considering the fact that Theory was a disciple of Rollins during his Messiah gimmick in 2020. Theory could easily be playing his role too well and actually look to help Rollins put a stop to The Vision’s hopes for Raw. If Theory does end up being revealed as the masked attacker, then a possible WrestleMania match with Rollins could be off the table. Theory could be a dark horse in this story, but if he is revealed to be the masked assailant, then his plan in joining The Vision will have paid off very well.
Logan Paul
Maybe the masked attacker is someone who got in the good graces of The Vision just to elevate himself to the top of the division. It’s no secret that Logan Paul looks to stroke his own ego whenever he gets the chance, and seeing that The Vision was a huge threat to him capturing a world title in WWE, caused ‘The Maverick’ to join them instead. Paul will always look out for himself at the end of the day, and what better way to sabotage The Vision than to first plant the seeds in Breakker’s head. Paul led The Vision to believe that the goal was to help Breakker win the Royal Rumble. Possibly knowing that Breakker was going to enter the match from the beginning, Paul knew that taking him out early in the match would guarantee that he could possibly end the match as the winner. Paul made it to the final four of the Rumble before being eliminated by Roman Reigns, but he was very close to winning it all. No one should trust Paul, and if he were the one who attacked Breakker, then The Vision fell right into his trap.
