Will ‘The Visionary’ Target ‘A-Town Down’ at WrestleMania?
The masked man who interfered in the Men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series was revealed on RAW. Austin Theory, who hadn’t been seen on WWE television since July due to injury, unveiled himself as the assailant who cost CM Punk and his team the WarGames victory. With no clear explanation as to why he attacked Punk, it seems as if Theory might be aligning himself with The Vision. Theory might think that Punk will be a problem he’ll have to deal with, but there’s another superstar that will surely go after ‘A-Town Down’ now that he’s aligned with two of the most dangerous superstars in RAW, and that’s the man they kicked out of their group.
Seth Rollins suffered an injury during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel and had to undergo surgery to help him recover. Seeing this as a step back from their plans of taking over RAW, the other members of The Vision felt they had no choice but to turn on Rollins and place him on the shelf for the foreseeable future. Even though it seemed as if Rollins had healed much faster than was normally thought when the masked man used a Curb Stomp on Punk at WarGames, it turned out that Theory had played mind games of his own by using Rollins’ repertoire. This could instantly make Theory a target for Rollins upon his return to WWE, especially now that Theory is siding with The Vision.
Theory is no stranger to Rollins, as both have had quite the interactions ever since Theory debuted on the main roster. He debuted alongside Zelina Vega as an associate of hers before turning and aligning himself with Rollins’s faction as a disciple. After splitting following Theory’s return to NXT, Theory would cross paths with Rollins in 2022 when Theory attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank contract for the United States Championship. Theory would ultimately lose the match and become the fifth superstar to cash in unsuccessfully. Both superstars would cross paths once again months later when Theory would win the United States title off of Rollins in a Triple Threat match that included Bobby Lashley at Survivor Series 2023.
Now that Theory has stolen Rollins’ moves and joined The Vision, ‘The Architect’ now has another target in sight once he recovers from his injury. Rollins could be back by WrestleMania season, and a program between himself and Theory could help elevate Theory as an ultimate heel on RAW. Rollins will want to take down every member of The Vision one by one, and adding Theory to that list will surely feel like a way to get back at everyone who did him wrong. Theory now must always watch his back, or he will be on the receiving end of a Curb Stomp.
