Who is Ally Sentnor: Introducing Kansas City’s Newest Addition to the Team

Ally Sentnor is currently the biggest topic surrounding the National Women’s Soccer League. On August 1, Friday night at 5 p.m. ET, the Kansas City Current worked on finalizing Sentnor’s official transfer to their team; now they have her. This new addition could turn the KC Current into an unstoppable force in this year's season. Sentnor originally played two years at the University of North Carolina before moving on to play at the professional level with the Utah Royals. Beyond playing at a club level, Sentnor also plays for the U.S Women’s National Team, where she proudly wears the number nine jersey. Now, the Current has made a record-breaking $600,000 trade offer for Sentnor. This trade offer is unlike many that have been seen before, due to its high price, proving to the public how incredible and rare a player like Sentnor truly is. Many are also fixated on the idea that the Utah Royals are currently ranked 14th in the league this year, and are transferring her to one of the top teams. While Sentnor was with the Royals, she played a total of 34 games and scored four goals. The Utah Royals FC have created a public post expressing their appreciation and saying a formal goodbye to Sentnor, wishing her the best of luck in her future games and endeavors.

Right now, KC Current is ranked number one in the NWSL for the 2025 season. Out of the 14 games they have played, the Current have won 12 games, lost two, and have no ties. Before Sentnor was signed on to their team, they were already viewed as a powerhouse. Only halfway into this year’s season, KC has scored the most goals, due to their continuous offensive plays, something many believe Sentnor’s addition will match perfectly with.

The young 21-year-old has already caught the eyes of thousands as she was the first overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft and earned the title as the 2024 U.S Soccer Young Female Player of the Year. She is known for her adaptability in any offensive position and her powerful kick. Ironically, KC’s next game is scheduled for this Friday, August 8th, against Sentnor’s old team, the Utah Royals, but whether or not Sentnor will be playing this upcoming game is yet to be divulged. Nonetheless, many believe that Sentnor will be a perfect addition to KC Current. This will make them the ultimate powerhouse as the second half of the NWSL season unfolds.
