Who Should a Six-Time World Champion Face at WrestleMania XLII?

WWE

During the 2026 Men’s Elimination Chamber match, Seth Rollins returned to reveal himself as the main masked man from Survivor Series: WarGames 2025. He took out Logan Paul after ‘The Maverick’ eliminated three opponents in the Elimination Chamber. On the March 2nd episode of Monday Night Raw, a depleted Vision without Bron Breakker or Bronson Reed reiterated they weren’t going to leave the ring until they confronted Rollins. The six-time World Champion tricked Paul and Austin Theory, which allowed Rollins to hit Paul Heyman in the back with a steel chair. It’s very apparent Rollins will take on a member of his former group at WrestleMania XLII. The question is, who? The obvious option looks to be Paul, but that all depends on whether Breakker comes back in time for WrestleMania.

Logan Paul

By the looks of it, Rollins vs. Paul looks to be the match at WrestleMania since Breakker’s and Reed’s injuries. Paul and Theory were not members of The Vision when Rollins was the leader. This feud could lead to ‘The Maverick’ saying Breakker’s decision to turn on the six-time champion was the right thing to do, and the two trading cheap blows with one another until it boils over to a WrestleMania match. Presumably, if Breakker isn’t back before WrestleMania XLII, he will interfere on behalf of Paul to help him defeat the former Vision leader. If Breakker is still unavailable, ‘The Maverick’s’ brass knuckles, Theory, or Heyman could play a factor in a potential WrestleMania match as well. With Rollins back as a babyface, it would be an easy decision and an easy cashgrab match to have him go against as big a heel as Paul.

Bron Breakker

The former two-time Intercontinental Champion had surgery for a severe hernia. The timetable for his return could lead him to come back either a little bit before WrestleMania XLII or a few weeks after the show. If Breakker is 100% by WrestleMania, there’s no question the match should be former Vision leader Rollins against his former protégé in Breakker. That’s the match everyone was waiting to see before Rollins shoulder injury, and now with the former two-time Intercontinental Champion out, it makes it unclear whether we’ll see this match actually take place. Orginally after the news of Breakker’s injury, it seemed like Reed would be the obvious replacement to go against the six-time World Champion, but since he tore his bicep on Raw in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier Match, now it has fallen on Paul’s shoulders to face Rollins. Unless Breakker comes back, the bottom line, if he’s available, he cannot miss WrestleMania.
