Who Will Win the 2025 RSM Classic?
The 2025 PGA Tour season wraps up this week at The RSM Classic in St. Simons Island, Georgia, the final stop of the FedExCup Fall. The Tour’s updated eligibility rules for 2026 state that only the top 100 players in the FedExCup Fall standings after this event will secure exempt status for next season. The week will also finalize several important outcomes, including the Aon Next 10 qualifiers for the first two signature events of 2026, as well as considerations for the 2025 PGA Tour Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year Awards. The RSM Classic serves as the seventh and last official event of the FedExCup Fall, each offering full winner’s benefits: a two-year TOUR exemption, 500 FedExCup points, and spots in The Players Championship, RBC Heritage, and the 2026 PGA Championship. It’s also a final chance for players to solidify or improve their priority ranking for the 2026 season. The tournament will take place from November 20th to November 23rd, and here are two candidates most likely to win.
Adam Schenk
After making it to the 2023 Tour Championship, the peak of his PGA TOUR career, Adam Schenk’s game quickly faded from view. He missed the cut in nearly half of his 58 starts that followed, including eight of 14 leading into the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. With his Tour card slipping away and a trip to Q School looming, an outcome arguably worse than obscurity, his season was on the brink. Last week may have been the toughest winds players have faced all year, but Schenk managed to steady himself. His final-round, 1-under 71 was enough to secure his first PGA Tour victory, edging Chandler Phillips by a single shot. The win also locks in his Tour status through the 2027 season. "Unbelievable. Was really hoping this day would come at some point in my life," Schenk, 33, said after his 243rd start on the PGA Tour.
Brian Harman
Brian Harman has repeatedly proven his ability to handle coastal conditions, most notably during his weather-tested victory at the 2023 Open Championship at Hoylake, and with a 10th-place finish at Royal Portrush earlier this July. He capped off three strong weeks in the FedExCup Playoffs with a 13th-place result at East Lake, a course that doesn’t particularly suit him. After taking two months off, he sharpened his game with a 26th-place finish at the DP World Tour’s India Championship, an ideal tune-up for this week. With a fourth-place finish at the RSM Classic in 2017 and a runner-up showing in 2022, Harman brings the full skillset needed to contend once again.
