Who Will Win the 2025 CME Group Tour Championship?
The CME Group Tour Championship is the season-ending event on the LPGA Tour, featuring the top players from the Race to the CME Globe standings in a no-cut, 72-hole finale at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida. It carries one of the largest purses in women’s golf and often determines not only the tournament champion but also the season-long points winner. The event serves as the LPGA’s premier finale, consistently delivering standout performances and dramatic finishes to close the season. The tournament will take place from November 20th to November 23rd, and here are two candidates most likely to win.
Linn Grant
Linn Grant, 26, became the 29th different player to win on the LPGA Tour this season. A short missed par putt on the final hole resulted in her only bogey since Friday’s opening hole, but it didn’t affect the outcome. The former Arizona State standout closed at 19 under, securing her first victory since 2023. “I think for pretty much the fall, I feel like I’ve been doing things that I more so believe I should be doing: not stressing too much over my results or like feeling like I’m not as good as I should be or I should have been more successful in ways,” said Grant, who collected $487,500 from the 3.5 million purse, “but just believing that whatever path I’m on is for me.”
Lucy Li
Lucy Li rose to the moment and was given one last chance in 2025 to chase her first LPGA title. Playing the weekend in Belleair, Fla., she surged up the leaderboard, ultimately grabbing a T-4 finish. Her rounds of 65-65-66 from Friday through Sunday were exactly what she needed to qualify for the CME Group Tour Championship for the second time, following her T16 showing in her 2024 debut. With four holes left in her final round, Li appeared comfortably inside the top 60 of the Race to the CME Globe and poised to book her trip to Naples. A bogey on the par-4 17th suddenly pushed her just outside the projected cutoff. Then, under pressure, she responded perfectly, carding a birdie on the par-4 18th at Pelican Golf Club to finish 58th in the standings and lock in her berth at Tiburón Golf Club. Li’s showing was also her best of the 2025 season, a welcome relief for the Epson Tour graduate, who hadn’t been fully satisfied with her year to date despite making 18 cuts in 24 starts before arriving in Belleair, Florida.
