Who Wins the Trilogy Between ‘The Ruler’ and Lesnar at SummerSlam 2026?
At WrestleMania 42, ‘The Ruler’ Oba Femi “retired” 10-time World Champion Brock Lesnar, who left his boots and gloves in the ring, signaling the end of an era. However, weeks later, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ attacked Femi on Monday Night Raw, which eventually brought on a rematch at Clash in Italy, where Lesnar came up victorious. Now, SummerSlam holds the trilogy match between the two, and this final showdown between the former two-time NXT Champion and the 10-time World Champion will be much different than their previous two bouts because they’ll be locked inside Hell in a Cell. With both men looking to rip one another apart, who comes out of Hell in a Cell victorious? Does Lesnar officially retire after this match, considering this premium live event in his hometown of Minneapolis?
It seemed like a good sendoff into retirement at WrestleMania for ‘The Beast Incarnate’. Yet, the 10-time World Champion still had something to prove and showcased that at Clash in Italy, where he delivered seven F-5’s to become triumphant. It was never a matter of Lesnar’s skill or gas left in the tank; it was more so: is this what Lesnar wants to continue doing? The feud with Femi has brought him back in the WWE fold and has fans wondering if he’ll continue wrestling beyond SummerSlam. Whether ‘The Ruler’ becomes the 10-time World Champion’s last opponent remains to be seen.
Back at Night of Champions, Femi was crowned the 2026 King of the Ring when he defeated Jey Uso in the tournament’s finals. The win earned him a championship match at SummerSlam. However, a low blow by ‘The Beast Incarnate’ would immediately make Femi change his mind. The former two-time NXT Champion would revoke his championship opportunity to handle the 10-time World Champion once and for all. Lesnar would accept the match if it were done inside Hell in a Cell.
Just like in their first two bouts, this Hell in a Cell Match is going to be a brawl. Both men have so much animosity and aggression towards each other that from the moment the bell rings. With this being the culmination of the trilogy between the two, WWE should give this match a good run time, plenty of violence, and a good story to tell. There shouldn’t be any repetitive moves like an F-5 or ‘The Ruler’s’ Fall from Grace. Also, there should be as much jam-packed excitement during the match and buzz for the Hell in a Cell Match after the smoke is cleared after SummerSlam.
It only makes sense for WWE to push their rising young star in Femi and have him walk out of SummerSlam victorious. The final match between the two should see the younger one have his moment, and the WWE Universe would be in uproar if ‘The Ruler’ conquered ‘The Beast Incarnate.’ The real question lies in whether Lesnar will retire after faking everyone the first time around at WrestleMania. ‘The Ruler’ has been waiting to get the 10-time World Champion out the rear view mirror and cous on championship aspirations.
