Why a Former NXT Women’s Champion Should Win the 2026 Women’s Money in the Bank Match
Last week, on the September 14th Mexico City episode of Monday Night Raw, Lola Vice won her Money in the Bank Qualifying Match against WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez and NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan. This happened to be Vice’s debut match on Raw and officially signed her contract for the red brand this past Monday. Now potentially in just her second main roster match, the former NXT Women’s Champion could be set to hold the Money in the Bank briefcase and be well on her way to becoming a World Champion for the first time. Thus far, she’ll be in a field with Sol Ruca, Jacy Jayne, and Roxanne Perez.
Back in NXT, Vice won the 2023 NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament, guaranteeing her a NXT Women’s Championship opportunity anytime she wants. She would cash in that moment during NXT Vengeance Day 2024 in the championship match between Roxanne Perez and Lyra Valkyria. Vice would be pinned by Valkyria and lose her chance. The former NXT Women’s Champion started competing in Underground Matches where she would put up an overall record of 4-1, defeating the likes of Natalya, Shayna Baszler, Jaida Parker, and Jordan, before losing to Kendal Grey. Vice would go through trial and error, losing multiple championship opportunities; however, she never gave up. She wound up winning the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship with Mr. Iguana and then, at Stand & Deliver 2026, defeated Grey and Jacy Jayne to become NXT Women’s Champion. She would hold the title for 85 days before losing to Grey at the Great American Bash 2026.
WWE knew they had something special when they signed Vice, and that showed year in and year out. She became a star in NXT, and that transferred over to Raw immediately. This past week on Raw, general manager Adam Pearce brought out the former NXT Women’s Champion and let her speak on the mic as she discussed her plans to win Money in the Bank; however, Perez came out, reigniting their old rivalry from NXT. Now that Perez has qualified, both women can go at it as much as they’d like, but that cannot stop them from the ultimate goal of winning the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Vice winning Money in the Bank would be shocking because it would only be her second main roster match and her first main roster premium live event; however, it wouldn’t be surprising because she has been such a naturally developing talent in NXT, and she’ll surely be on Raw, so much so that WWE can have her hold onto the briefcase until the very right moment. Yet with Stephanie Vaquer as Women’s World Champion, that would be a perfect superstar to stick Vice with. They’ve faced each other in NXT and teamed up in AAA before. A feud between these two could be what everyone didn’t think they needed, but now realize it’s all they want to see. Vice could cash in on WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green, but the former NXT Women’s Champion just signed her Raw contract, so it wouldn’t make much sense to have Vice switch within a couple of months after debuting. Vice has an incredible MMA background, alongside being a great wrestler who can speak on the mic. WWE would be silly if they didn’t put the briefcase on this former NXT Women’s Champion.
