Why Sol Ruca’s First Feud on Raw Should Be Against a Three-Time Women’s Intercontinental Champion
On the April 20th episode of Monday Night Raw, we saw Sol Ruca be called up to the main roster and face WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan during this Raw after WrestleMania XLII. Zaria would ultimately interfere, costing Ruca the match; nonetheless, the former WWE Women’s Speed and NXT Women’s North American Champion has a great path ahead of her with the rest of 2026 still to look forward to. With Ruca officially on the red brand, this allows her to interact with many dream match-type opponents and legends of the WWE Women’s Division. While it may not be exactly where WWE may go, a feud with ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship would not only elevate the former Women’s North American Champion’s popularity, but more recognition would be on the eyes of Ruca, who is by far one of the best wrestlers of today’s age.
To me, a feud between Lynch and Ruca would make sense, especially now. The seven-time World Champion claims to be the greatest female professional wrestler of all time, while Ruca is very much on track to be one of, if not the greatest, female wrestlers ever. To make this feud even clearer, Lynch is now a three-time WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, and while ‘The Man’ certainly deserves the championship for all the hard work she’s put into the industry, she simply should not be holding that title again. Her WrestleMania XLII match against AJ Lee made little to no sense, as Lee beat ‘The Man’ three times in the past, so it was warranted that the seven-time World Champion would win. At the same time, this win made Lynch a three-time Women’s Intercontinental Champion, which I believe the WWE Universe is ready to see a role change within the card for ‘The Man.’
Beating the “greatest female professional wrestler” would boost Ruca’s popularity and overall career on Raw. This allows her to face the women of the mid-card before elevating her to the main-event scene. The former WWE Women’s Speed and NXT Women’s North American Champion was NXT’s greatest kept secret for the longest time, until she started to receive more opportunities to showcase her talents. When they were a tag team, Ruca and Zaria appeared on SmackDown to face Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. In addition to her first appearance on the blue brand, she earned a spot at John Cena’s final show as a performer in a match against Bayley and then appeared at the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble, where she came in third behind Tiffany Stratton and the eventual winner, Morgan.
While she could face this talent any time on Raw, just picture Ruca against Bayley, Lyra Valkyria, Roxanne Perez, Raquel Rodriguez, Natalya, Maxxine Dupri, and more. These are women who will only help the former WWE Women’s Speed and NXT Women’s North American Champion mature in the ring and on the mic, be more confident, and grow as a WWE superstar. Ruca should very well be holding a championship in 2026. Whether that’s the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship or WWE Women’s World Championship, that’s yet to be determined, but it would make total sense to have the NXT call-up start in the mid-card. A feud and eventual title fight against Lynch would be huge for the career of Ruca at this stage in her young rise on the main roster.
