Why the Bills Quarterback Could Finally Get a Super Bowl in 2026
The Buffalo Bills were unable to capture their first Super Bowl title in 2025, losing in the Divisional Round to the Denver Broncos. The Bills have now made the playoffs seven years in a row but have been unable to advance past the AFC Championship Game. Bills fans have shared their frustration for falling short every season, especially with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Josh Allen. Last season, the four-time Pro Bowler threw for 3,668 yards and 25 touchdowns, while also rushing for 579 yards and 14 touchdowns. Allen has consistently led his offense for seven seasons now, but other factors have prevented the Bills from reaching the finish line. In 2026, however, things could finally change for the franchise and the quarterback.
Buffalo had a busy offseason, both for the roster and coaching staff. Joe Brady was named the new head coach, along with Pete Carmichael Jr. taking over as offensive coordinator and Jim Leonhard becoming the defensive coordinator. The past coaching staff was often criticized for the shortcomings in the playoffs, despite being able to dominate in the regular season. Offensively, the Bills traded for wide receiver D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears, providing Allen with a brand new weapon. Moore was a significant part of the Bears turning their offense around last season, and will now have the opportunity to grow a new connection with his quarterback. Buffalo also brought in two new interior offensive linemen in Lloyd Cushenberry and Austin Corbett, who will compete for the vacant left guard position. Center Connor McGovern was re-signed to a four-year contract, ensuring strong protection for Allen for years to come.
Defensively, the Bills signed free agent edge rusher Bradley Chubb. Despite his history of injuries, Chubb will be a strong contributor to the defensive line. In the secondary, the team added safeties C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Geno Stone, who will beef up the position that has sorely needed some upgrades. In the 2026 NFL Draft, the Bills drafted both edge rusher T.J. Parker and cornerback Davison Igbinosun in the second round. Jim Leonhard will have a fantastic unit to work with in his first season, in hopes that they can take them beyond the Conference Championship. As for Allen, he hopes the changes on offense were enough to bring the Bills to Super Bowl glory in 2026 and finally secure his first title.
