Will a Two-Time Pro Bowl Defensive End Become a Packer?

NFL

Earlier this offseason, when news broke out of the Cowboys organization, star linebacker Micah Parsons requested to be traded from the team, and now his future is in question. Parsons was drafted by the team back in 2021. Parsons went in the first round of the 2021 draft, taken by the Cowboys with the 12th pick. When Parsons announced that he would like to be traded, fans of the Packers immediately jumped on the idea of Parsons becoming a Packer because of his dominant presence on the field, including having at least 12 sacks in every one of his NFL seasons thus far. Eagle-eyed fans took it one step further, knowing that Parsons' agent is David Mulugheta, who also happens to be Packers quarterback Jordan Love’s agent.

Yet, how close are the Packers actually to signing Parsons, or are fans setting themselves up for disappointment? Well, reports in recent weeks have been floating around about trade rumors for Parsons. These reports are rumored to include the following as a trade deal for Parsons. This trade deal included multiple draft picks, including a few first and second-round picks, and more than likely a couple of players from the 53-man roster in exchange for the pass rusher. Also added in the trade rumor was a signing deal of $45 per year. Since the news about Parsons wanting out of Dallas broke, Packer players past and present, like former Packer fullback John Kuhn, who, as of recent, has shown his support for the trade via social media, have sent fans into excitement.

It is important to note as well that Jerry Jones, Owner of the Dallas Cowboys, instates the team, and Parsons is working on a contract extension. Nothing is set in stone for the season, as signs point towards the Packers adding Parsons to the defense. While there is no serious evidence of talks between the two teams is not stopping fans from speaking out on social media, wanting Parsons to sign with the Packers. Will Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys reach an extension agreement, or could we see Parsons in green and gold this year?
