WWE’s Bloated Roster is Holding Back Talented Superstars

WWE

Lately, WWE has been making waves by bringing back some familiar faces and signing fresh new talent. Big names like Aleister Black and Rusev have definitely grabbed fans’ attention. However, with so many wrestlers already on the roster, things are starting to feel overcrowded. WWE is already having a tough time giving everyone screen time, and adding more just makes the problem worse.

Longtime WWE fans have seen this all before, exciting new signings that eventually end up stuck on the sidelines. Aleister Black had tons of potential in his first run, and Rusev’s “Rusev Day” was a fan favorite, but both were ultimately wasted. WWE has a track record of not knowing what to do with talent that doesn’t fit their current creative plans. Without a real strategy, these new additions could easily end up forgotten just like so many others.

At the same time, top stars like Drew McIntyre are getting pushed to the background. McIntyre carried WWE through the pandemic as champion and has repeatedly shown he belongs in the title scene. However, lately, he’s been left out of major storylines without a clear reason. WWE seems more focused on juggling too many names instead of building on the momentum of proven talent.

The real problem is that WWE won’t commit to keeping its brands clearly separate. Without sticking to the rules of the brand split between Raw and SmackDown, a bloated roster just doesn’t make sense. There isn’t enough weekly TV time to give everyone a fair shot. Yet, when current stars are already struggling for meaningful storylines, adding more names only makes it worse.

If WWE really wants to make its product better, it needs to focus less on signing more people and more on using the talent it already has. That includes giving stars like Drew McIntyre the spotlight they’ve earned. Right now, too many great performers are being overlooked. If things don’t change, the overcrowded roster will keep holding back potential and disappointing fans who know these wrestlers can deliver. It's time for WWE to prioritize long-term storytelling and character development over short-term shock-value moments.
